The Blue Leaf Water

The Blue Leaf Water

Watering is an innovative water purifier intended for singles. It can be wall mounted and features a blue leaf that indicates the number of glasses you have consumed during the day. It is recommended that we consume at least 8 to 10 glasses of water a day, so with each rotation, the blue leaf keeps a track of the number glasses consumed. You can customize the temperature and other features to suit your needs. I like it more for the fact that it integrates so well as a funky wall art décor!

The Exact Cellphone

The Exact Cellphone

Imagine using a smartphone that sports a bare minimum design and yet is functional enough to pass off as the latest high-tech device. The Sustainable Smartphone is just that; it uses fewer materials and its lifespan exceeds that of existing smart phones. It is a basic communication device and caters to the needs of those who are prone to the elements, have special needs, and impoverished people.

Stunning Achromatic Studio

Stunning Achromatic Studio

This modern studio is all about openness and transparency from one section to the next- so much so that anyone with privacy issues might find themselves feeling vulnerable. Corner to corner, the viewer’s perspective shifts from light to dark, inside to out. The minimal aesthetic is contrasted by dark grey tones and raw textures of concrete, wood, marble and steel. A single colorful object, designer Igor Sirotov’s signature rubber duck, is hiding somewhere – see if you can find it.

Mouth-Watering Bugatti

Mouth-Watering Bugatti

The Bugatti Gangloff is like the chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream frosting of the luxury supercar world… self indulgent…  decadent… sexy… sinful. It was inspired not by late models like the Veyron or the mighty Galibier, but rather one of the classics of the brand: the 1930s Gangloff S57. What’s under the hood? Who cares… it’s much too pretty to drive anyway.

Illuminautical

Illuminautical

The shape of the HullOled luminaire was inspired by the skeleton of a ship’s hull and features a central supporting beam and ten outstretched arms each with a separate Philips Lumiblade OLED panels. The unique shape and large construction give the impression that the relatively massive structure is floating effortlessly above the illuminated area.

The Hybrid Laptop

The Hybrid Laptop

This is the age of being multifunctional, hence a concept like the Paysage Laptop sound pretty acceptable. Here is a 14.1-inch laptop that features an inductive stand for the home. It looks super sexy in its brushed aluminum unibody design. A soft rubber hinge reinforced with a piece of metal inside gives it a maximum opening of 180°.

Timed Ring

Timed Ring

The Ring Clock is a simple approach to marry two of the biggest and much needed accessories that we use. Yes, we wear rings and we wear watches, and it’s not the first time that the two have been integrated. What I really like about the Ring Clock is that it is designed simple, with the clock aspect integrated into the ring’s band. The ring rotates as time goes by, and thus showing the current time.

Wally, The iPhone Wallet Case

Wally, The iPhone Wallet Case

It’s sexy, sleek and totally incognito with your credit cards. Wally isn’t yet another wallet case, but rather a handcrafted leather pocket that grabs onto the back of your iPhone to secretly and securely hold what you need to have close at hand. Instead of a bulky case or a wallet with a pocket for your iPhone, Wally clings to the back of your iPhone utilizing micro-suction instead of a glue or magnets, Wally has a grip like a gentleman: strong and secure, without leaving behind any tackiness.

A’ Design Awards & Competition 2013 – Call for Submissions

In my interview with Yves Béhar, he told me that taking part in design competitions is a good thing for designers from two perspectives. One, you get to measure yourself in comparison to others from the same stream and two, you get evaluated by creditable people from the industry and thus your claim to fame is a validated one. This and many other reasons make it important for you as a designers to consider taking part in the 2013 A’ Design Awards & Competition.

A New Way to Store and Carry Paper

A New Way to Store and Carry Paper

Even in our digital age, there are still a handful of people, including architects & engineers, who use paper on the daily. The Duo paper storage solution aims to make transporting & storing sheets a direct, safe, & quick process opposed to the existing cylindrical tubes which often damage the paper during use. The design divides the inner hollow of the cylinder in two parts, utilizing the center with an additional cylinder for storing unused sheets while preserving drafts & documents in the outer cylinder.
