Robotic Gait

Robotic Gait

The 7-miles is a concept of an active robotic orthosis designed to fit physically challenged and able folks. It supports a person right from their gluteus area to the femoral and calf muscles. The support does not restrict the range of motion and is very lightweight. Thanks to a flexible design it is possible to extend the height to fit a 150 – 200cm tall person. For the able-folks, it serves as a city personal commuting system.

Plug It On The Window

Plug It On The Window

The Window Socket offers a neat way to harness solar energy and use it as a plug socket. So far we have seen solutions that act as a solar battery backup, but none as a direct plug-in. Simple in design, the plug just attaches to any window and does its job intuitively.

Rummikub Reimagined

Rummikub Reimagined

A household favorite, the iconic Rummikub game has undergone very little change over the years. iVokey is a fresh take on the tile-based game that gives new life to the set with modern fonts and colors. An overall focus on lightness called for using new materials like plastic and acrylic for the board and tiles which have been reduced in size but are even more durable. Packed into a convenient, compact tote, it’s easier than ever to take to parties or gift to friends!

Stainless Steel Ice Cubes

Stainless Steel Ice Cubes

Not the first time I’ve seen something similar but this Kickstarter project for the stainless steel Pucs are by far the most well crafted. The general idea is ice cubes are terrible at keeping liquids cold. They immediately melt and dilute the flavor and they can even alter the taste if your water source isn’t pure from the start. Don’t even get me started on the chemicals used to treat city water supplies. Pucs stay colder longer and imbue no taste or smell to your drink.

A Silky Disposition

A Silky Disposition

You have to hand it to Samsung and Apple’s forward thinking design team that made it acceptable for us to have phones that are a cross between a tablet and well … a phone! While the new forms give us a gawky looking device, The Bionic Silkworm Inspired Phone takes us back to the basic shape of an ergonomic handset. Designed to make both children and the elderly comfortable with its use, the LED display and infrared sensor technology make it as tech-savvy as it gets. So which will you prefer… a phablet or a phone?

Corky Frames

Corky Frames

Love these PVD coated, half cork fames. Designer Marc Tran has done a great job trying to marry very different elements and make them compliment each other. This new asymmetric frame combines contrasting materials and yet maintains their individual identity. Pretty cool if you ask me!

Butts Love this Chair

Butts Love this Chair

Designing truly comfortable seating without upholstery is more challenging than it may seem, especially without using molded wood. Designers Alessandro Torricelli & Ralph Voigt found a simple & efficient solution by dividing the Curytiba chair’s seat & backrest into two sections. Each side was carefully bowed to the center until the pressure zones of the tailbone & back were relieved. It’s rigid, yet thoughtfully formed to the human anatomy for maximum comfy-ness. Not to mention, it’s really easy on the eyes.

Literally out of this world!

Literally out of this world!

A few years ago, space tourism was utterly science fiction. But with private operations already underway and queues of wealthy travelers lining up, this ultimate thrill-seeker’s adventure has become a reality. The XLDron M Gravity concept sheds light on what we might expect from our future spacecraft. The dual vehicle design consists of a shuttle and “rocket-plane” that work in tandem to carry 4 crew and 10 tourists beyond the reaches of our atmosphere before gliding home.

Animals Getting Tipsy

Animals Getting Tipsy

Gotto love this clever wine rack that resembles the spirits of the animal kingdom! With the options of stocking your wine on a reindeer, elephant, penguin and Doberman, the choice is really tough. On a side note, you better assemble the wine accessory before you down a glass or two!
