Audi Saloon of the Sea

Audi Saloon of the Sea

Designer Ramazan Kaya’s latest yacht concept exudes style, luxury and comfortable recreation, taking design cues from a car brand known for its subtle sophistication and technological innovation. The Audi yacht maintains a handsomely sculpted body, symmetry and minimal detail, but it’s the signature silver and racing red accents that hint to its S-line inspiration.

Star Gazing Table

Star Gazing Table

The Nebula table is created from a combination of polygons that play with the viewer’s perspective, making the facade an interactive sculpture of sorts. Depending on the angle from which it is viewed, the glossy black surface also gives a subtle, clouded reflection of surrounding colors that resembles an interstellar cloud. Composed of fiberglass, it’s a sexy accessory inside or out.

Simpler isn't always better!

Simpler isn’t always better!

It was just a few days ago that I was in the midst of adding parmesan to my homemade pasta when I started pondering the old-fashioned grater that I was using. I was thinking, “this thing is so simple, yet so uncomfortable and hard to clean.” I wondered if it could be made better by simplifying it further. Needless to say, I never came up with a solution. BUT, looking at the Satellite Grater here, I now realize the answer wasn’t to simplify, it was to enhance! Check it out!

Sustainable Cleaning Bot

Sustainable Cleaning Bot

Move over Roomba! Limbo Robot is sort of like your own personal Mars-rover… only instead of being plutonium powered, it actually harnesses the energy of the waste it “consumes” from cleaning your kitchen and other areas! It uses a process called microbial electrolysis; a proven process that uses bacteria as a power source. The flexible honeycomb wheels allow it to move over obstacles and even collapse to help guide it up stairs.

Rock it Modern Style

Rock it Modern Style

Designer Seden Craig said it best- “this ain’t your granddaddy’s rocking chair!” The skeletal design was inspired by slatted furniture as well as topography models making it a unique, modern twist on the conventional rocker that’s defined by linear wood slides contrasted with a white facade on top. It’s an interesting alternative to both the outdoor adirondack or indoor rocker.

High Chair that Grows Up Too

High Chair that Grows Up Too

The Froc high chair was designed with growing kids in mind, adjusting in just 3 simple steps (footrest, seat, and backrest) to accommodate children from the age of 6 months up to 10 years old. The adaptable design grows with kids, so there’s no need to endlessly replace chairs that become too small. The super-solid design also offers superior stability, focusing the center of gravity at the seat so kids and wiggle all they want!

Generation X

Generation X

The Gear – X Watch Concept is a take on retro steampunk styling. I love it for its skeletonized dial that showcases the movement so aptly. Designed as a unisex watch, I can imagine it being worn by me more than my husband. The ample dial and case size is perfect and it’s definitely worth seeing how a manufacture would develop this watch’s movement.

OMG, Yes Another iPhone 6 Concept Phone!

OMG, Yes Another iPhone 6 Concept Phone!

By now Jony Ive and his brigade must be having a good laugh at the number of iPhone 6 concepts doing the rounds. But I must admit that with each passing new idea, the designing and aspects are getting refined and eloquent. Who knows one of these may trigger an inspiration for Ive! Specs for this new idea include straight sides with chrome accents, upper and lower angles curved with grainy texture and gloss finish.

Need For Speed

Need For Speed

Two-wheelers have their fancy appeal and I for one love the ride. The FREERIDE E-SPEED Electric Scooter Concept is essentially a motorcycle idea in a scooter’s architecture. The bike gives the vibe of a hyped up sports scooter in KISKA-KTM design. Redefining urban mobility, the bike is light and sexy.

Delete My Schedule

Delete My Schedule

Really love this simple Delete Clock, offering us an innovative way of planning our day and keeping with schedules. The whiteboard surface is good for jotting down notes and tasks, plus the fact that the schedule gets erased when the clock hand sweeps the face, is very poetic indeed.

Moving Parts Of A Computer

Moving Parts Of A Computer

Here is a thought, why confine portability to a laptop, why not have portable desktops? I know for a fact that if I had the chance, my 27-inch iMac would travel with me everywhere. Coming out of dreamland and into reality, here is the Cover Keyboard offering a more realistic way of travelling with our computer. It gets neatly packed into a carry bag and what’s more, the extendable interactive keyboard is really cool! What do you think?
