The WRLDCLCK simplifies telling time in different cities in one clever and awesomely simple device. The user can personalize the clock to their liking by adding as many hour hands as desired. Each hand is preprinted with various world cities and blank on the other so custom stickers can be added for other locations. Just snap on the different cities and forget it! And if you think wall clocks are passé, there’s also an app for your smartphone!

The Farm 432 project explores growing the other white meat: BUGS! Cumulus is a stylish headphone designed for autistic adults, where the headband goes round the neck and it has a galvanic skin sensor. This sensor helps determine the rise of temperature or heart rate via vibrations and better understand the mental conditioning of the autistic adult, at that given moment. The way the headphones wrap around the user’s ears also provides a sense of comfort and security.

If you are looking at re-doing your bathroom then have a look at what Dutch designer Marike Andeweg has conjured up HI-MACS. The versatile material has been used the basin as well as fixtures, aptly titled the Air, Box and Light. Sporting gentle, fluid geometrical forms, the Box consists of a sophisticated single or double HI-MACS oval basin, accompanied by the practical and orderly counter containers in oak wood.

The Houndstooth Valet is a glorified way of dumping your clothes and shoes in your room, without looking like a sloth. Essentially this stylish maple structure features two black acrylic shelves that help you organize your clothes, shoes and accessories. The The plastic trays are perforated with a houndstooth pattern, in reference to textile and fashion. Simple and functional!

Obvious TAXI Station

How about a taxi stand that offers a waiting lounge, office space, personal cabins for drivers, lavatory, changing room, storage area, kitchen and resting area! Sounds utopia but plausible, thanks to the universal language and modern architecture incorporated. Electrical and lighting systems are assembled within the installation floor, which is hidden, between ceiling and the roof. Moreover a system is in place to collect rainwater and use it within the infrastructure. Very Impressive!

Saline Lamp

The Clear Light uses saline water to conduct electricity and light up this lamp. Essentially it replaces wires with saline water to reduce metal consumption. It features voice operated switch and a metal cap to control its functioning. I just think it looks super sexy lit up, don’t you?

Tron-approved Snowmobile

The wicked-looking Snow-Cat snowmobile ditches the gas powered engine for a hi-tech fuel-cell electric power-train with kinetic energy recovery system. The sleds are fitted with linear generators which send power back to the fuel-cell unit and its lightweight carbon fiber body and aerodynamic shape allow it to cut through snow like butter. A digital dashboard provides the rider with completely control of the engine and suspension with information projected directly on a head-up display.

EB-0lution

The EB-0 is an exotic evolution of the modern electric motorcycle that features high-performance bi-motor power delivered independently to each wheel. Other innovations include a windscreen-projected control panel and mean-looking high powered LED headlamps. A see-through “tank” and super-clean tail section emphasize its petrol-free power and give it a look that’s entirely different from other gas-powered and electric bikes alike.

High-security without that prison-feel

UNStudio’s aim in designing the new laboratory and offices for the Japanese pharma-co Astellas in Bio Science Park was security of the scientific research center without sacrificing a pleasant, open working environment. To achieve this, the structure integrates the security concept inclusively with the frame of the building serving as an unconcealed enclosure. At the center is a courtyard surrounded by glass facades that provide sufficient daylight and transparency into each of the 3 work areas.

A Gem of a Light

No specific shape can be used to describe the Amorphous Lamp, and that’s precisely its appeal! The irregular and multifaceted yet thoughtfully crafted shape is achieved by linking various sized sheets of frosted white polycarbonate on a base of faceted raw wood. Its unique, angular aesthetic changes with just a simple turn.
