The Less is More Toaster

The Less is More Toaster

You wouldn’t throw out a phone if the screen broke, or a bike if the brake pads wore out… so why trash a toaster when something goes awry?! That’s the idea behind Core. To help eliminate waste and increase longevity of use, this innovative appliance channels Dieter Rams’ “less design, but better” ethos, utilizing a screw-less, glue-less design that allows users to better maintain and repair their toaster. Easy access to the crumb tray and internal components (with no permanent fixtures) makes it a cinch to replace parts and clean as needed. Jump to the vid!

Door-igami!

Age-old craft meets familiar fragment in this sculptural furniture edition influenced by the traditional art of paper folding. Titled Origami 9010, the series is part of the Serein brand’s sustainable design project “DACHWOOD” inspired by the architecture and history of Berlin’s “altbau.” The fully handcrafted limited edition of 50 originates from the artist’s study of using clear cuts to achieve folds applied to the reclaimed altbau doors as sheets of paper.
