Daan Roosegaarde is a designer from the Netherlands. His work is all about the interaction between the human body and technology- the public and the design become one. In a new design which combines ventilators, sensors, software and other media, FLOW reacts to sounds and movement. FLOW creates an artificial wind as the human body moves around the structure.

A clock, as we know it keeps us on track. It helps us to stay focused and accomplish tasks before deadlines. Clocks also help us to get to where we need to go and see how far we have gone. Therefore, clocks are essential to us. Jason Linde has designed a clock that is different than the average clocks we have in our home.

Americana is a flagship ship store designed with the Urban Environment in mind. All objects such as the mannequins, changing rooms all the way down to the shopping bags have been designed with an urban feel. “Benches” such as the ones that skaters use as ramps are located throughout the store. This style allows for easy movement of all elements located within.

The concept of this club and bar centres on the person of Theodor Heuss. The club is thus a tribute to Theodor Heuss, the first President of the Federal Republic of Germany, and its name “T-O12” (pronounced “Theo 12” in German) also hints to the address of the club at “Theodor-Heuss-Straße 12”.

Wouldn’t it be grand to look into the mirror and have our future told? Or to look and ask a question to a difficult situation and the mirror respond back with the perfect answer? We all know that isn’t possible, no one can predict the future. However, the Carole mirror does allow us to imagine the mirror is speaking just to us, allowing us to pretend that its words are just for us alone.

Don’t get it mixed up with Post-it because it’s not. It’s a Pock-it. Same idea with a twist. Three sides of the stickie are well… sticky forming a little pocket. Great idea when you want to tell your roommate “rent is due, leave money in here”.

It is not a game just for children, but for objects as well. Make-believe play is something we all should enjoy. The Pretending Clock enjoys its’ own game of make-believe. On the outside, it shows itself as a beautiful cuckoo clock, yet on the inside, beneath its exquisite covering, lies the truth in the object found underneath.

As winter’s cold creeps in, we all revel in the little things to keep cozy. The Natural Wave is ceramic plate that fits over an old school radiator. The heated plate keeps your drinks and snacks warm without having to use additional power and energy like a microwave or oven. Pretty ingenious and if anything, it makes those old rusty radiators look a lot better.

Based on the Fukidasi – the bubble form that is used a great deal in cartoons to express feelings or sayings – this design by Studio Foundations allows the same concept, yet to be used with real people. Programmable to say whatever you want, this bubble is sure to be hit with friends and family. If you don’t want to say it out loud, say it with a Fukidasi Bubble.
