Sure some curtains attempt to dazzle us with features like lace fringe or intricate pleats, while others have the sole purpose of simply blocking out the sun. Anyway you look at them, they serve a purpose in almost any space. From keeping our domestic activities private to framing a view, curtains are as ubiquitous as the walls they are attached to. Curtain designer Florian Kräutli has bravely dragged the Window Treatment Industry into the 19th Century by incorporating magnet technology into every panel.

I believe it was Jupiter that gave his son Baccus (the Roman God of Wine) his first set of Legos when he was nowhere near old enough to even spell sommelier. His childhood memory just might have been the inspiration for the Bachus Wine Rack by Marcel Wanders. Like Legos, this stackable and practical wine rack utilizes rounded pegs to keep it’s precious cargo firmly in place and easily accessible.

I know I’ve seen something similar before but this BIN concept is much prettier to look at. It combines a motorized sweeper and 18 liter trash can into one. The sweeper neatly tucks in, handle and all, into the front of the trash can when not in use.

Here is a new design, that we haven’t seen a lot of lately. I personally do not own a coat hanger, because the past designs have been, well, quite boring, and do not fit with the style of my home. Here we have a very modern and stylish coat hanger that can work perfectly in any home environment, and one you would be pleased to have on display.

If you are like me, mornings are not your best friend, and being a bit of a procrastinator at picking out my clothes and having them ready for the next day is also another weakness of mine. Unfortunately, when I do wait until the morning of, to pick out what I am going to where for the day, it is usually during a time when my significant other is still sawing logs in the bed. That is why I am so excited about the new Invisilight design.

The waterfall was created by a group of men for a public display in the heart of Tokyo in 2006. The architecture was designed by Tadao Ando and the “waterfall” optical glass bar was designed by Tokujin Yoshioka and installation was performed by Olafur Eliasson. Together, this group of men created what appears to be a bar made from water.

Black Hole is a rubbery elastic bag that folds flat when unused but can balloon up to gargantuan proportions when you stuff all your crap it in. The unique material is super strong, light, and flexible yet it’s thin enough to leave impressions of what you have inside. In a sense your hidden junk transforms into an art piece that can be proudly displayed.

Those of you who know something about raising fish know that fish need plants to help them feel in their environment. Most plants found in a fishbowl or aquariums are just green and boring. Not the case with the new design by Joe Doucet. In Doucet’s new design that creates a combination of fish bowl and plant holder. The two are joined together as one but separated at the same time.
