Hot Tatra

The last ten years has seen the resurrection of legendary auto brands like the Maybach, Bugatti, Healey, Mini and recently announced Alpine car brand. Tatra Motors, the third oldest car company on the planet behind Daimler Mercedes-Benz and Peugeot was the inspiration for this new concept design by Czech magazine AutoDesign&Styling. They asked designer Mike Jelinek to create this concept vision of the Tatra of the future. The result is the 903 Concept, a fuel cell luxury sportscar with innovative aerodynamic solutions. Jelinek adds, “The water drop shaped back refers to one of the most characteristic values of Tatra, the aerodynamics – same as covered rear wheels.” At present, Tatra only produces heavy trucks, but the this latest commissioned concept may get enough people excited to convince them to relaunch their passenger car line. Fingers crossed.

Yeah…cool… maybe… but what is sure is that this guys look a little bit too close to some design of Daniel Simon…
Daniel Simon is a ex Volskwagen designer, he is independent now, in his book: “cosmic motors” the “Galaxion” car is much better…

In all honestly I don’t know how this design helps the aerodynamics of the car. The back of the car looks a mouse.

Oh thank god its not just me that thinks this looks like a mouse with a click-wheel

Just needs a matching set of white jump start leads and it would be there!

You know, all you people that see a hot Alias rendering and think that it is a great design amaze me. Take your Alias goggles off! this thing has horrendous proportions, Impossible body cuts, and some of the most inelegant window graphics I have seen this side of a Mitsubishi Outlander. Absolutely no attention to panel separations either; angling here, there, wherever. This is a bad design, not deserving of the name it is representing. This is third place Peugeot contest level. Maybe second.

Oh, and it does look like a computer mouse.

Even better, he calls it the 903, when Peugeot has the rights to all three digit numbers with 0 in the middle! HA! what a blunder.

man i wish I was as cool and critical of others opinions as moha and powaz.
The design has ventured into the same places and plenty of other concepts before it, and the raised “aerodymanic” bonnet and minimal windscreen would limit the viewing distance for the driver dramatically. Otherwise a reletively nice design comprising some streamline element of the past.
