Yesterday’s Security Breach

With a popular site like Yanko Design, we attract an extensive audience, which is predominately very receptive to our site and responsible with their conduct on it. Although we always welcome our readers with open arms, we do not endorse those who come with malicious intents.

As a number of people have noticed, our site was briefly compromised yesterday leaving our loyal readers without a functional site. Since then, we have restored the database from a nightly backup with virtually no loss of data.

This incident came at an unfortunate time when an earthquake had recently hit Japan, whipping out the internet backbone in certain parts of Tokyo, which multiplied the problems as it resulted in one of the site’s founders being unreachable.

We appreciate your patience as we have temporarily disabled a number of features on the site, while we investigate the matter and take action to ensure that it does not occur again.

welcome back. it was a brief outage, but a sad one to see. scary to think what will happen should this become a regular thing on the web.

I was furious when I saw the hack. Some people need a productive hobby or something, it’s so immature to go around bothering innocent people. I’m glad that everything got restored quickly. Great work.

I saw this message in feed today.

“Hacked By GHoST61 |HackShow.us”

I think this guy called “GHoST61″ is trying to fuc* someone in virtual life because in real life he can´t.

Why don´t you try Viagra or something like this GHoST61?

I hope you are able to effectively close the security hole. Stuff like this is annoying, but as a friend always says “Whatever doesn’t kill you will make you stronger.”

I really depend on Yankodesign for excellent content and you have never let me down. keep up the good work, I love your site.
