Shintory - Disappearing Ice Bowl by Daniel Hunziker
The idea is everlasting, the product is literally volatile. The usage of the product is very simple and straight forward. The only thing you will need is a little bit of patience. Fruits, desserts and salads will be presented as bowls of ice. And this is how it works: put two bowls of different diameter into one another, fill the gap in between the bowls with water, fix with tape and place in the freezer. Then wait that’s it! Take the bowls out of the freezer after 24 hours and let them defrost for 10 minutes. Release the bowls gently. The bowls will last much longer at room temperature than salad or dessert. They will disappear quietly and gently until the next party!

um…ok……but suppose it melts?
What happens then?
So does it melt in between the two bowls or just into a puddle on the table at this posh dinner paty your having, with all these people in posh clothes?
It’s such a clever idea, but a waste of water.
The melting water and water wastage are concerns, but i like how this design idea is one in which anybody can make it.
