A Different Kinda Fold

A Different Kinda Fold

The Feno is a folding notebook. Typically we expect a hinge between the display and keyboard, but the Feno has an additional hinge within the display! This not only makes the size more compact but also explores future use of flexible OLED screens. The pièce de résistance is the pop-out mouse! Just pop it out and you are good to go! Brilliant!

All-in-One Computer

All-in-One Computer

The InOne is truly an all-in-one computer. 22″ screen, keyboard, touchpad, speakers and a digital tablet are all built into one TRONtastic package. Everything is wirelessly connected and the tablet displays what your write and draw so you don’t have to look up at the screen. Interesting design, especially the keyboard.

A Laptop so Minimal, it Hides

A Laptop so Minimal, it Hides

If you thought Apple couldn’t possible simplify the aesthetics of the MacBook Pro line any further, take a look at the HIDE laptop. The ultra minimalist design hides all ports when closed. Aside from the small hinge and indentation to help lift the cover, it just looks like a solid aluminum block. It’s naive and utilitarian. I really like it.

Dock Cut from Aluminum Block

Dock Cut from Aluminum Block

Although I appreciate Apple’s strict minimalist design with the MacBook Pro, having all the ports on the sides always irritated me. You can’t really hide them so I’m quite keen on this docking solution by Bostjian Majcen. It repeats all the ports but towards the back and now you have a nice large flat surface to do whatever you want with – but that isn’t very minimalist is it?

Welcome Home, Telephone

Welcome Home, Telephone

I would like to take this opportunity to formally welcome the telephone back into the home. Not to the car, not to the park, not to the line at Subway (I HATE THOSE PEOPLE,) but to the comfort of your own home. Designer Bon-Seop, Ku has a design called the “WIPI Phone” that’s too large for a pocket and too cute to be ignored! Made for your countertop, your kitchen table, your bedroom shelf, this is the long missing medium-format communication device that’s the missing link between cell and laptop.

Enchanting Folding-out Laptop With Utopian Specs

Enchanting Folding-out Laptop With Utopian Specs

No matter how advanced, progressive, sleek and lightweight our laptops get, the one thing that we sorely miss is an elaborate keyboard. I know of someone who uses his Macbook but in conjunction with a wireless keyboard. Many hybrids and self-built versions are out there being used by folks, so the question really is, are we happy with what the industry is dishing out to us? Or do we have to lust after Utopian concepts like the iWEB 2.0…with really drool-worthy features!

MacBook 3D! Glasses Included

MacBook 3D! Glasses Included

2009 was the year of EVERYTHING IS TOUCHSCREEN but times-a-changing. I’m just gonna go ahead and make a prediction for 2010. We’re going to see a bag load of concepts with 3D-enabled technologies. Take a look at this MacBook 3D and get used to some of the features. It’s like any other MacBook except there are stereoscopic iSight cameras, a touchscreen trackpad (soooo 2009), and a hingeless spine design.

Laptop Morphs Into A Briefcase

Laptop Morphs Into A Briefcase

What strikes me most about the Playing By Heart (quite a fascinating name for a laptop!) concept is the simplistic way it tries to achieve its set goals. The goals being: portability, smooth looks, multi-level elevation, cooling & sleek form. All it takes is a handle on the back-end of the laptop, steel or aluminum finish for the cover and you have a rocking Laptop Briefcase in your hands! Think about it…no more laptop covers or sleeves either!

Into The Dark

Into The Dark

That’s where most tablet-like designs guessing at the look and specs of what’s now revealed to be the iPad. But I say to you in great defiance: not this one! This one shall gather a bit of light still! It was conceived before that faithful unveiling day, and its ideas shall be carried on until fruition! I give to you this! The MacView, as designed by Patrycjusz Brzezinski, queller of the hoards of maddened Apple fans.

Dell Adamo XPS, World's Thinnest Laptop Reviewed

Dell Adamo XPS, World’s Thinnest Laptop Reviewed

At a scant 9.99mm, the Dell Adamo XPS really is the world’s thinnest notebook – truly design like no other. I’ve been trying to keep my tongue in check when Dell invited me to grab a first hand look at their new baby. It doesn’t look real. It’s almost too thin, yet underneath that metal exterior and diamond cut logo is hardware powerful enough to run Windows 7 without skipping a beat. Hit the jump for my review.

Disposable Paper Laptops

Disposable Paper Laptops

I quite agree with Je Sung Park when he says that disposable cameras and cell phones have gained acceptance, so why don’t we take the next step and bring out a disposable computer. His Recyclable Paper Laptop is quite a raw version and could do with some refinement. It uses recycled paper or pulp material all packed in layers. This is so that you can easily replace the damaged portions (even corrugated paper will tear easy). The vibe of a Paper Laptop is intriguing, I kno eventually someone will figure out the tech bit, so let’s see who will take the bait.

Case Of Old Wine New Bottle

Case Of Old Wine New Bottle

This ain’t a hot red typewriter but The Valentine Notebook. A project that was undertaken to explore Ettore Sottsass’ claim, that design should not merely be functional but additionally be attractive and emotionally appealing. This new version is a take on the original Olivetti Valentine, which was considered as the ultimate fashion accessory for the working girl in late 60’s.
