Thanks to concept design, our perception of a printer has stretched from a circular body to over-the-edge box. The idea is to break conventional norms and do something radically different yet respecting the boundaries of ‘form beyond function’. The Eclipse-dual Printer is a step in this direction and it aims at revealing the process of printing and scanning, rather than concealing it.

U Transfer USB stick eliminates the need for using a computer as a medium to transfer information from one stick to another. It is equipped with a display that is hopefully a touchscreen, and has a slot at one end to hook up another stick. File transfers promise to be easy, and I can imagine myself using this stick at live blogging events.

Rainbow is a mini computer designed especially for the new age Smart TV and intelligent media entertainment systems at home. The design includes three options for display: LCD, Television or Projector. The device also houses a modem and WiFi Station for home network, facilitating easy Internet Access. The cool quotient is upped with the inclusion of an ambient lighting system, that peps up the whole deal!

Thank you Laura and Charles for giving us a fresh perspective on tablets! The Samsung Galaxy One Tablet Projector Concept is a combination of three characteristics from three different devices. It has the lightness and mobility of tablets, the widescreen of desktops backed with the power of a laptop. With the inclusion of a back kick-stand and projector, the device gets additional functionality and of course Windows 8! Superb!

The versatile IdoStand uses 2 seamlessly integrated arms that make it possible to prop your phone up in portrait or landscape modes at the perfect angle for recording video or Facetiming. Best of all, the design is no bigger than than other cases and, if nothing else, actually compliments the beauty of the iPhone itself!

The Embrace electric shaver is unlike any you’ve seen before. The ergonomic design positions itself in the users hand to create tactile feedback and enhanced pressure sensitivity, decreasing the overall negative impact repeated shaving has on the skin. An adjustable sensor also measures the smoothness of the area so the perfect shave is achieved each time.

SoftSheet is a device aimed at making presentations of blueprints by architects, engineers, contractors and site workers, easy. While tablets do offer a degree of convenience, SoftSheet takes the screening a notch higher by taking advantage of a foldable, touchsensitive, transparent display. The technology is almost here, so it is quite plausible to imagine an architect showing his work to clients using the device and syncing his files from his USB or smartphone backup.

The whole world still revolves around the writing tool – don’t you ever forget it. Designer Matej Korytar hasn’t forgotten it, taking the WACOM brand of digital writing instruments to a new level with the WACOM REALISM project: a pen with many abilities. This pen, an advanced stylus as it were, has the ability not only to instantly scan any real-world color and output it to your display and writing app of your choice – it’s got green power abilities as well.

The following project is a tablet made to fold into many different forms and sit nicely inside the Fujitsu brand. It’s important to note that this project was only designed to look nice inside the Fujitsu brand scheme, and is not an official project – that said, it does look so futuristic and tablet fantastic, we wouldn’t be surprised if Fujitsu’s eyebrows weren’t raised when they lay their eyes upon it. EDDY or Electronic Drawings Display is a device that attempts to make a design office a paperless entity! Architects, interior designers and the whole clan rely on tons of paper for sketching to design execution, despite taking help from computer programs. EDDY uses e-paper mimics the qualities of paper as much as possible while still maintaining the powerful efficiency of a digital device.

Four is a very stylized multi-touch AMOLED device that hangs on your wall, providing pretty pictures and sounds with a dash of functionality. The 145 x 235 mm device brings you weather forecasts, natural ambience, travel planning facilities and more. It is not a tablet or an attempt to put an iPad-esque clone on the wall, but an attempt to make the digitalized Mona Lisa on your wall do something more for you!

I love the fact that we can setup our own photo printing system at home and get creative with it. However there is the limitation of routing the pictures via a computer and then printing them. The Postcards Printer eliminates this step; it doubles up as a digital photo frame and a printer. Creating excusive postcards for posting or just plain photos, both options look awesome with it.
