Wake Up Softly

Wake Up Softly

Scroll through the alarm sounds on your phone & chances are you won’t find a single one that isn’t just a tad bit annoying. Not the most pleasant way to wake up! The Good Up amplifier aims to make the harsh sound a little softer so the user wakes up comfortably rather than abruptly. Simply place the phone in the polyethylene low density cone & it will muffle out high pitched sounds, emitting only the lower tones. No batteries required & no energy consumed. It’s kinda big, but whatever gets the job done right?!

BlackBerry Peer

BlackBerry Peer

The BlackBerry Peer is a phone intended for children. More like a lifestyle accessory, considering these young consumers are initiated to the gadget world from the word go. It features a smart camera and myPeer app that comes in handy when traveling and taking photos. It even doubles up as a GPS locator, allowing parents to keep a tab on their kids in crowded tourist spots. The Peer records videos, takes pictures and allows image editing in realtime using add-on effects.

Blue Experience Part 2

Blue Experience Part 2

Tolga Tuncer’s first version for the Facebook Phone was radical enough, simply based on its design. He takes his passion with the social networking site a step forward with this new iteration. It features a compact aluminum casing and a slider phone. A highly centralized user interface with a real physical aluminum wheel embedded with a Like-Button makes the phone ideal for FB fans.

Lumigon T2 Smartphone

Lumigon T2 Smartphone

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Apple is still KING of hardware design when it comes to smartphones. Yes Samsung and HTC have beautiful phones but they lack precision and a refined elegance. The latest Nokias are stunning and in some cases, rival their fruity competitor in design. It seems the Scandinavians are the only ones that really know how to design a smartphone. Minimalism has pretty much become their domain and if the Nokias aren’t proof, check out the Lumigon T2.

Entering the Genre of Pocket Tablets

Entering the Genre of Pocket Tablets

While most of us are still discovering the value of tablets versus laptops, the next-gen is already thinking about blurring the lines between smartphones and tablets. What we have here is the Pocket Tablet Concept, which is a happy marriage between a smartphone and, you guessed it, a tablet. The device combines emerging technology like the flexible OLED screen that folds out to give it the tablet edge. And of course the pocket size is the other advantage that can be harped upon.

One Pen, One Phone

One Pen, One Phone

ONE is a mobile phone fashioned as a pen. It hosts a flexible 6-inch display that relies on cloud computing for memory. The design basically satisfies the needs of consumers who are looking for a lighter phone without compromising on the size of the display screen or applications.

BlackBerry Windows Phone Pro

BlackBerry Windows Phone Pro

We all know that BlackBerry needs to either hitch a ride with someone like Microsoft or come out with a smashing BB OS 10. If we take on the first scenario and pair BB with Microsoft, then RIM’s baby is a magnificent Windows Phone Pro, which has the possibility of including all things good from BB tools and MS Office apps. The potential of the BlackBerry Wind concept sounds too good, imagine the ultimate professional phone bearing the security and agility of BlackBerry along with the competence of MS Office.

Forget iPhone 5, It’s Time For iPhone 6!

Forget iPhone 5, It’s Time For iPhone 6!

If you are still dealing with conceptual iPhone 5 phones, then I reckon you are late in the game. The stakes have moved up to the iPhone 6, a concept where the home button is moved to the left side of the phone (used with the thumb), leaving a huge screen space for one to enjoy. In this mockup, Antoine uses ergonomic grip quite cleverly and formulates it with dimensions 125 mm x 63 mm with a 4.9-inch screen. For a first round of concepts, it looks interesting enough, what do you think?

BlackBerry with Windows?

BlackBerry with Windows?

How comfortable will you be with a Windows backed BlackBerry? Nothing is too radical these days and when foes become friends, the new relationship blossoms into something big and spectacular. Concept Smartphone pro Michal Bonikowski sent us his thoughts on a BlackBerry Smartphone hosting Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 platform. The design not only simplifies the BB but also makes it a more fluid interface with Windows. I like the approach but I don’t think this partnership is ever going to happen, but then, you never know!

Slim n Sleek Helium

Slim n Sleek Helium

Helium ‘The Easy Phone’ is quite something! It is slim and sleek, almost like a candy bar. The main purpose behind its ideation is to provide a handy device for hardcore business folks who need a phone to call. This is the reason why there was only a front camera incorporated initially. However market diktats have forced in some key essentials like a 5 – MP rear camera and quad headphones. Have look inside….

Facebook Phone Part 3

Facebook Phone Part 3

The first Facebook Phone opened up a whole lot of questions and the primary one was, why the hell is it blue! To set the record straight and to give the concept a new lease of life, Michal revisited the design with an HTC approach. Like it better? Yeah, I do; how about you?

Über-Functional iPhone Case

Über-Functional iPhone Case

I’m sure you’ve picked up on the trend of iPhone cases that do more than just protect the device- we’ve seen designs with kickstands and others with compartments for headphones. Finally, here’s one that has both! The Ö Case features a multifunctional component that stores ear-buds and also doubles as a stand to prop up the device. It’s still compact enough that the user won’t notice a difference in size.
