Circle Phone, Going Back To Simplicity

Circle Phone, Going Back To Simplicity

I will give you a prediction here and now. The upswing in high-tech technology integrated into every facet of our lives will soon (say 5+ years from now) experience a backlash started by none other than us; designers. The Circle Phone is an example of such a backlash.

Personalizing That Phone

Personalizing That Phone

Customizable face plates for electronics is all the rage right? This clamshell phone is all about user customization. The grid lattice structure holds colored pins to mimic precious jewelry. Create all kinds of designs and patterns in full pixelated isometric glory. Limited edition versions with precious metals and gems could also be created to heighten the sense of personal style and design.

Sony Ericsson PXi For Lefties

Sony Ericsson PXi For Lefties

Bence Bogar must be a leftie because his SE PXi concept is a product specifically created for all lefties tho it’s flexible enough for righties too. Obviously following the current direction of SE’s P series of smartphones, the PXi is powerful while staying somewhat slim and ergonomic. The body is magnesium framing a big 3.3 inch touchscreen. The screen rotates automatically ala iPhone and is optimized for both finger and stylus input.

Seniors Hate Dialing, Apparently

Seniors Hate Dialing, Apparently

My grandmother can’t be bothered with typing in a 9 digit number to call me. In fact she usually asks someone else to dial the number if it’s not already on speed dial. Unfortunately even speed dial isn’t enough for grammy. She wants it easier. The T-Phone is perfect for her.

Rubber Mobile Phone

Rubber Mobile Phone

It pretty much goes hand in hand, buy a new phone, get a new case for it so said phone doesn’t end up looking like it went thru a doozy with Dizzy Devil. So two guys from two different design studios decided why not make a phone that’s rubberized, able to withstand the nicks and digs of life. The result is the SaY phone.

Wearable Mobile Device For Enhanced Chatting

Wearable Mobile Device For Enhanced Chatting

A new wearable device that anyone can communicate with that is easier and lighter in mobile circumstances corresponding to the 3.5G, 4G communication standard. Human hand is the most basic communication method. For easier and simpler controls, it uses the instinctive input method “finger joint”. Excluding the thumb, each finger joint makes up twelve buttons, with “the knuckle button”, using the cell phone’s 3X4 keypad, likely being the most popular input method.

Mobile Phone With Landline Qualities

Mobile Phone With Landline Qualities

This design revolves around the charger unit. The eye-catching opening in the middle fulfils two functions: storing the phone and charging it. On the one hand, ETNA fits onto an adapter which is plugged directly into an electrical socket: the phone is charged via induction and an illuminated, colour-coded ring on the charger adapter shows the respective charging status.

Fruit Tray Cell Phone

Fruit Tray Cell Phone

The concept of alternate arrangement is how designer Timo Wong arrived at the design of CELLS. The design mimics the contours of a typical fruit tray. The number keys are not separated by straight lines, boxes or circles but by alternating contours on one single surface. Each number seems to be divided into one cell of its own.

It Was A Rock Lobster

It Was A Rock Lobster

Anytime I can get one of the best lyrics from the B52′s into a blog post, I’m there. I’m not just pulling this out of thin air tho. This multimedia device is called the Lobster and if you squint really hard, the segmented pieces sorta look like a lobster’s tail.
