We received so many page views and comments about Tsuboi’s Stand Umbrella, we thought high time to review it. 100% was gracious enough to send us one and it’s probably the classiest, cutest umbrella I’ve seen. Class and uber cuteness – is that even possible?

Runners know music can provide that extra oomph to make that last mile. The right music can relax us, put us to sleep, or heal us, so it makes sense it can also energize us. The Yamaha BodiBeat is part DJ, part heart monitor, and part trainer to keep you at your peak performance during workouts. Armed with new running sneakers and a snazzy outfit, I strapped the BodiBeat onto my arm and took to the Los Angeles jungle. My review after the jump.

Walk into any supermarket today and you’ll see a new trend. People are bringing their own shopping bags. With plastic bags labeled as the evil accomplice to the environmental problem, a number of companies have taken it upon themselves to design grocery bags durable enough for hauling while remaining questionably stylish. After all, being “green” is now a message people want to project so shopping bags have had to evolve into accessories. I’ve been using the Moukisac shopping bag for the past few months and it promises utilitarian chic.

If you’re one of the 10 million people with an iPhone then you understand there’s a huge market for protective covers and cases for it. Even the tiniest scratch somehow totally ruins Apple’s minimal aesthetic. Most people opt for cases for full protection but that defeats the purpose since the iPhone was meant to be seen. There are protective films but each manufacturer’s quality is questionable. So who’s to trust? I tried out the ZAGG invisibleSHIELD and came away impressed but not without some marring issues.

Move over cheap radio alarm clock because for the past month I’ve been trying out the Etón P’9120 designed by the venerable Porsche Design company – yes the same one that makes those uber sexy cars. If music is your ace then you’ll be happy to know it handles nearly all digital delivery forms, including docking up with your iPod, Touch, and iPhone, radio, and integrated XM satellite. There’s even a built-in subwoofer and of course, 2 separate alarms because you never wake up on the first alarm.

I have semi-longish hair and blow dry almost every other day. It’s a known fact blow drying actually distresses and damages hair so doing it sparingly is key, but if you can’t avoid the heat, the Remington Shine Therapy Dryer may just be the ticket to healthier, shinier hair.

I got my hands on Pure Digital’s latest camcorder, the Flip Mino and came away impressed. It’s a mini version of its bigger brother the Flip Ultra but thankfully quality has not been compromised. In fact quality is up in terms of build and video. At 640×480 pixels per inch, it’s not meant to compete with bigger and more expensive camcorders. This is for those candid moments when spontaneity is required. It’s small, pocketable, and easy to use.

Every Pleo is autonomous. Yes, each one begins life as a newly-hatched baby Camarasaurus, but that’s where predictability ends and individuality begins. Like any creature, Pleo feels hunger and fatigue – offset by powerful urges to explore and be nurtured. He’ll graze, nap and toddle about on his own -when he feels like it! When we found out an ordinary computer mouse won an 2008 IF award, we were intrigued and had to review it. Logitech was kind enough to supply us with a model and let me start by saying this is no ordinary mouse, not surprising since I later found out it was designed by Marcel Twohig. The man currently designs for Design Partners and worked with LG prior to that. The MX Air combines laser optics for millimeter point accuracy, touch controls for parts of its interface, and Freespace’s innovative motion sensing technology to track hand gestures.

It’s here, we got it and have been drinking tea like there’s no tomorrow – Joey Roth’s Sorapot. How excited was I to open such a beautifully packaged teapot! It’s important to note all the packaging materials are 100% recycled. The Sorapot is a modern teapot, with its architectural shape and simple functionality designed to bring the quiet beauty of tea and brewing tea into focus. How well does it perform? We’re happy to announce the Webble is now market ready and on sale. There are few companies who evoke experience and know-how in speaker design as Bowers & Wilkins do. The company has over 40 years of history creating some of the best sound experiences for consumers and audiophiles alike. I had the opportunity to review their Zeppelin Speaker for the iPod. It’s been getting rave reviews from customers and won a Gold 2008 IDEA award. Kudos to Native Design. Must be good right?

Living in L.A. means dealing with desert heat and the dry conditions that accompany it. I’ve used a number of humidifiers in the past and tho all performed as expected – they always ended back in the box relegated to the back of a closet. After using the FRED Humidifer by Swizz Style for several weeks, I’ve come to realize why my closet is filled with a bunch of past contenders.
