For Bad Weather Biking

For Bad Weather Biking

I’m all for a funky helmet design, especially when funky means enhanced functionality! The C-THROUGH helmet’s far-out aesthetic isn’t just for looks. Designed for wet weather, its layered rear scales maximize ventilation, the wide jaw section directs exhalation away from the double-paned visor to prevent fogging, and the oversized visor also extends the wearer’s field of vision. It’s overall shape might be odd, but its highly effective at wicking water away from where it counts!

Wet Towels No More

Wet Towels No More

The Pure Towel is a smart appliance for the bathroom; it instantly disinfects and dries your wet towel, using ultra violet rays and a high-speed dryer fan. Using this appliance kills almost 99.9% of the bacteria in a towel, making it safe for use without additional washing. The idea behind the concept is to improve our daily routine and not really change it. Neat!

How to clean a Broom?

How to clean a Broom?

The typical way to clean the broom brush is to manually pull through the entangled hair and grim caught in the bristles. Yucky! The Filter Broom can spare you this disgusting routine thanks to its innovative design. It is designed in such a way that if you press the button on the handle, the comb passes through the filter plate and hairs and foreign materials can be removed easily. Say yay for innovation!

HOLLA!

Say hello to Holla. It’s a wearable smart-gadget that fits snug on your wrist! More compact than a cellphone yet larger than a watch, it has a full 2.2 inch touch display along with an integrated earpiece for taking calls and streaming music. Calculator 2.0

Calculator 2.0

For a good part we can credit Apple for redesigning the calculator, more as a swanky app than as a product. To take it into the real world, we have here the Calculator 2.0, a device that breaks away from the boring, boxy object to being something trendy. Take a look at the aesthetics and simplistic design.

Snack Packs for Snack Attacks

Snack Packs for Snack Attacks

Snack Packs are a snackers best bet for keeping two snacktime favorites together. The first is a jacket for your banana that keeps its contents and other items in your bag protected in the event of a smash! The other is a silicone snap band that wraps around yogurt containers to keep the lid closed and a spoon handy. Each is made of flexible, washable silicone so you can easily wrap them up and clean after use!

Algorithmically Crafted Cutting Boards

Algorithmically Crafted Cutting Boards

What initially began as a project to design door handles in Grasshopper design software, the shapes of the Pebble collection were inspired by the designer’s curiosity and explorations using algorithms. The result is 7 uniquely shaped boards that can be used for a variety of applications from serving to cutting. Included with each is a smooth, glossy porcelain dish or cup to compliment the natural wood material. They’re as curvy and comfortable to hold as they are tough to withstand years of use, making them a timeless addition to any kitchen!

A Transforming Twist on the Speaker

A Transforming Twist on the Speaker

Twist is the portable speaker that functions exactly as you might imagine- with a twist! In the off position, it appears a smooth, simple cube, but turn it on and 2 corner layers twist around to reveal hi-def outputs. Keeping with the stark aesthetic, the subwoofer is also hidden on the underside. The transforming design not only puts the fun in functionality but protects the sensitive speaker components when not in use!

The Flow of Fresh Flowers

The Flow of Fresh Flowers

Air fresheners and purification devices need not be ugly blobs that we are embarrassed to showcase. They can be as sleek as the Lotus Flow, which is the combination of an air purifier and lights. The petals of the surreal flower are made from electroluminescent fabric with a hydrophobic coating that helps draw in dust and pollutants into the core section. This is where the air purification happens. Overall a brilliant design, I’d love to see how far we could take this 2014 Electrolux Design Lab entry.
