DIY Matter Maker

DIY Matter Maker

The Alchemist Matter kit teaches you how to create DIY matter through physicochemical phenomena. Mind blown? In a nutshell… it’s a cleverly designed for kids, teaching them to experiment with components that look similar to the naked eye but react differently—the same way that alchemists, the ancestors of chemists, did! It’s the first steps for basic chemistry presented in a fun, hands-on, educational way! See how it works….

Induction Meets Conventional Stove

Induction Meets Conventional Stove

StovE is a next generation cooking device for small families. It combines the energy-efficiency of induction cooking with the power of conventional gas cooking. It features 2 cooking surfaces for each, 1 induction on top and 1 gas burner on the right, while a 3rd induction below the top keeps food warm before being served. Despite its large variety of uses and functionalities, its form, inspired by a leaf, uses less space in the kitchen thanks to its elongated, vertical shape.

Not Your Mama's Flowerpot

Not Your Mama’s Flowerpot

The Water Recycling Flowerpot makes the rest seem BASIC! Using a unique double-hallow structure, it’s able to recycle the leftover water that remains in the pot after watering. Water is stored inside the inner wall, preventing overwatering yet ensuring hydration. The water inside evaporates and condenses into droplets that fall back to the soil, creating the process of recycled irrigation. Made of crystal-clear glass, it’s fun and easy to see exactly what’s going on inside!

Do-It-Yourself Oil

Do-It-Yourself Oil

For the choosy culinarian, the Daily Expeller offers an entirely new way of utilizing cooking oil- by manufacturing it yourself to your own requirements and tastes! In only 15 minutes, you can extract enough oil for 2 individual meals (100g ingredients for 20cc of oil) using any kind of nut or seed of your choice, including walnuts, peanuts, sesame or sunflower. Aesthetically, it’s a bit steampunk-ish, a bit scientific, and a whole lot beautiful. Watch it in action —>

Taking the Tech Out of Technology

Taking the Tech Out of Technology

In contrast to the current trend of high resolution imaging, the Ambient Display project relies on the quality of fuzziness! This effect is created through the combination of an ALUCOBOND media LED matrix with a Bencore aluminum honeycomb structure. With just 1000 large pixels, it bridges the digital and analog worlds. Less detailed and more subtle, the result is an artistic visual experience with a variety of application opportunities. Hit the jump to see how the designers put it to use!

The Ultimate Mobile Printer

The Ultimate Mobile Printer

So how about this … your phone case also doubles up as a portable printer. I like the concept and logically speaking, we are seeing many new practical designs that support portable printer – scanners that are pint-sized. Taking it a step further and cramming it as a Smartphone cover is an eventuality. Just a matter of time! So we have it on paper now … let the drum rolls begin…

The Very Visible Traffic Lights

The Very Visible Traffic Lights

Panorama Traffic Lights are easily visible to pedestrians even if it is hidden behind tall buses (and other bulky vehicles) at the signal crossing. It is designed in a manner that increases the signal’s visibility across various viewing angles. It enhances road safety by cutting down accidents and ensuring that crossings are safer. Love the design and wonder if this is the solution we are looking for.

Easy Pain Relief

Easy Pain Relief

I’ve just been through a painful patch of wound dressing and using awkward bandages, which is why I know that an improvement in design is needed. Although meant to be used as a Pain Relief Patch (for muscle pains), The Rolling Patch concept can be extended for all kind of bandages and First Aid dressing concepts. You can alter the length of the patch and trim to the requisite length, avoiding wastage and promoting easy application. Super!

The Luggage Trap

The Luggage Trap

This luggage tray concept surely tops the ones I have seen long distance buses use. The entire tray pulls out and allows you to load the bags with ease. Next, you slide the tray back in and you’re ready to go. The difference actually is the ability of the tray to slide out completely and hold the weight of the bags thanks to the pull-down legs. A simple redesign that can work out well for the loader and his back! Relief from the strain!

A Clean Swim

A Clean Swim

Public swimming pools can get messy and dirty during the summer months and maintaining them is quite a task. Typically water filtration is done best when the pool is empty, however concepts like this Water Filtration are intriguing and helpful. Individual capsules of filtration systems line the pool ropes and help clean the water constantly. Yes, you can swim with peace without having to worry about how many kids have pee-ed in the pool!
