A Digital Typeface for the 21st Century

A Digital Typeface for the 21st Century

Times have changed… except for the very thing that tells us the time! Until now – the Script series is a collection of digital timepieces that breath new life into the digital clock display with a modern and fluid typeface. Script shares the same principle of the classic 7-segment display on your DVD player and oven, but reconfigures these segments to achieve a fresh, new look!

Ahh, Dang The Traffic!

Ahh, Dang The Traffic!

I’ve seen a clock similar to the Swing Baton telling the time, however I find the application to managing the traffic system quite fascinating. Predictably, the baton is used to guide the traffic and avoid congestion. What is perky about it is the creative way the colorful signals are displayed.

If it's on your phone, it's on your wrist.

If it’s on your phone, it’s on your wrist.

I remember being a kid and watching the original Power Rangers talk into their wrist watch to communicate and do all sorts of cool stuff. That was 20 years ago, making me kinda old and whoever thought of that really smart, because 2014 is the dawn of the smartwatch! Jumping on the smartwatch wagon is the Braun S concept- it packs power in the form of notifications, fitness monitoring, calling assist, messaging, music and more.

Bob rocks!

Bob rocks!

Bob is an eco-friendly, minimalist version of the rocking horse that was designed to not only reduce waste but keep childhood memories alive! Once little ones have outgrown the horse, it transforms into a seat by hiding the rockers under the main body. Use it as a functional keepsake and then pass it on when your kids have little ones of their own!

Mom says never leave home without clean underwear!

Mom says never leave home without clean underwear!

It’s sage advice that inspired this design, as well as an observation that 75% of college students admit to being constantly in need of underwear. The reason? Lack of access to washing machines or convenient laundry services. – The solution is called Bulbe, an alternative halfway between washing clothes by hang and with a machine. It’s compact, portable and fits into any bathroom. Wash up to 1.5 kg of laundry quickly and economically. Perfect for campus life! See how it works —>

Human Dimensions Bag

Human Dimensions Bag

What would it look and feel like if our DNA evolved to have a pouch like a kangaroo? That is the essence of the Fluoa Fusion Silver Light Backpack. It follows the dimensions of the human body, making it natural-feeling, ergonomic, and aerodynamic. It’s not what you’d tote on a long camping trip, but it’s waterproof, super-lightweight and has just enough room for your laptop and a few other belongings— perfect for toting around the city from day to day. Get it here!

It’s All About the Ring

It’s All About the Ring

Look at these projects here and here, then come back and compare. All three of them deal with a cup design for the visually impaired and hopes to avoid spills when filling a cup. Question is, which one of them solves the problem effectively? What do you think?

A Lamp to Watch Over You

A Lamp to Watch Over You

I love my apartment, but there are still two things that drive me up a wall on a daily basis… the hideous smoke alarms and security system. Total vibe killers! You can’t live with ‘em, and you can’t live without ‘em. Until now… the Drop lamp might just look like beautiful blown glass, but within its decorative shell are technologies to alert the user to a number of home situations including fire, smoke and break-ins! They connect via WiFi, are always hardwired and totally disguised so you can rest assure your place is being watched over all without ugly ceiling fixtures.

Apple, Eat Your Heart Out

Apple, Eat Your Heart Out

The iPro was designed for professionals who need a lot of everything, be it memory, workspace or processing power! If a Mac Pro and iMac had a super-baby it would be the iPro. The best of both worlds with its retina cinema display and careful balance between performance and design. It’s an all-in-one enclosed solution that can still be upgraded or downgraded easily. WARNING: Only hit the jump if you NEVER want to look at your current Apple the same again.

The Dispensable Tag

The Dispensable Tag

The elaborate tags that accompany new clothes are a necessary evil. Once you’ve snipped them off your new purchase, they find their way to the bin and that’s the end of them. To make their life more useful, here is an idea of using soapy soluble, printable strips that can be added as detergent, to the first wash. Interesting idea that is worth exploring! What do you think?

Lord Of The Sign Rings

Lord Of The Sign Rings

Sign Language Ring is a set of rings and a bracelet capable of detecting sign language and translating them. Essentially, the device is able to detect sign language motions and can translate them to voice feedback. Conversely, it can translate voice to text. Inspired by the Buddhist prayer beads, the text is displayed on a screen on the top of the bracelet.
