The Story of the Zigzag Door

The Story of the Zigzag Door

The very clever HyeonCheol Lee aims to make the subway ride a very easy experience for all of us. By simply change the way the doors and chairs are arranged, the density level can be dispersed to each direction; meanwhile the total number of seats remains the same. Other improvisations include E-ink displays that run on low electricity and specific spaces for luggage and umbrellas.

Flower-pot for the Forgetful

Flower-pot for the Forgetful

I forget to eat my own meals, leave alone feeding my pet plants. Which is why the Puro autonomous planter is for me. It has a neat trick to take over the watering activities for you. It uses discarded batteries (they usually have low-voltage power in them) to run a sensor that detects moisture levels in the soil. All you need to do is fill up a reservoir with water and the Puro will help itself to a little drink every now and then. Just make sure you don’t have your pet coming and lapping up all the water!

If musical instruments can be wooden..

If musical instruments can be wooden..

Why not speakers? Most audiophiles will agree that wood is one of the most superior materials for any acoustical product. The way wood resonates is uniquely pleasing to the ear. Trobla (Slovenian for Horn) is a nifty passive speaker designed to maximize audio output through its horn shaped design. The wooden construction ensures audio fidelity, even at high volumes. And, let’s not forget that this is a passive speaker. Which means it channels audio from your phone’s speaker and magnifies it.
