Super Slim PC and iPhone Dock

Super Slim PC and iPhone Dock

The refreshed Mac mini may be making the rounds for slimmest and sexiest desktop computer but if an aluminum slab isn’t your thing, try this – the Slim PC. It’s a little robust looking, almost like a car stereo unit. The front face is capped with a piece of solid wood but the real wig snatching news is the iPhone dock. In an attempt to unite the two computing platforms, they compliment each other nicely – the halo effect.

Blend and Mix in a Swoop

Blend and Mix in a Swoop

The Revolvy 2in1 has a very curious shape for a blender and mixer. When not in use, the appliance just folds up to one discreet hanging gadget, freeing up precious kitchen-counter space. I am in awe with the way it turns from blender to mixer…simply fantastic! It’s either the blender-attachment to the top of body or the mixer-attachment to the bottom of it. Super cool and functional!

Learning Tool for Deaf Children

Learning Tool for Deaf Children

The VV-Talker is a device designed for deaf children to help them overcome their problem in speaking effectively. If you can’t hear the sounds you make, it’s difficult to know if you’re pronouncing it correctly. The device has a screen attached to a wand. Sounds are associated with vibrations. As the child speaks, the device provides feedback on accuracy and teaches the child to speak with the correct “vocal vibrations” to achieve the correct modulation. Brills!

Double The Camera Fun

Double The Camera Fun

The 2Duo concept camera features Dual Lens and Dual LCDs so that you can get maximum perfection out of your photography. Self-portraits or 3-D kinda pics, this camera helps you do all sorts of things to make you trigger-happy. The 2-way hinge structure rotates at 90-degree angle and 360-degree angle, allowing you to take some awesome photos with unbelievable angle-shots! Given the number of apps and tricks that I am using to perfect ordinary shots, this kinda camera just fires my imagination and creativity.

The Butterfly View of You

The Butterfly View of You

I watch with amusement how my daughter struggles to take self-pictures from her cellphone and our camera. It’s a crazy fad but in practical scenarios, where you are a lone traveler, I think a camera with some kinda modification to help you click self-photos will be a great idea. Just like this Butter-Fly Concept camera, it has little “wings” that come out from under the camera. Easy navigation buttons and a steady grip, allow you to take pictures and videos from an arm’s length. Neat!

Luminous Pipe Lighting

Luminous Pipe Lighting

E-M – Electronic Melody Lamp is an awesome piece of creation that is made from biodegradable materials, LED and solar paneling. Besides being decorative and functional, I love the way you can twist and create magical luminous lines that are different everyday. Let your imagination get the better of you! Do I see an ostrich today?

QWERTY Focus

QWERTY Focus

Most cellphones have joined the touchscreen bandwagon so once in a while it tickles me pink, to come across a QWERTY concept merged with the touchscreen option. The handy keyboard is placed to the right of the phone and it has a 30˚ slant to it. It’s quite a handful but in a good sense and I think we can do with a Samsung Cave!

Community Water Bottles

Community Water Bottles

The WaterStation is a refreshing new take on water filters that we find at food courts and supermarkets. Generally the dispensing machine allows you take water by the glasses. This new redesign includes water bottles that you can take to your table, use and then dock it back for refilling. If nothing else, this new idea will save me countless trips to the water filter and make food courts a better experience.

Foldaboat!

Foldaboat!

Fold-a-boat is a seamless, hard shell, folding boat made from one single sheet of plastic. The objective is to create an accessible flat-pack leisure boat designed for flat water environments. The 2.5m vessel can be folded and packed into a small 150cm x 60cm parcel. Someone call IKEA! The product targets an outdoor activity market; water lovers, campers as well as potential boat owners. A  secondary market could be applications for NGO’s responding quickly to natural disasters.

When Pigs Fly

When Pigs Fly

I’m loving this Flying Piggy Bank. Save your money because someday it’ll give you “wings to your dreams.” We’re slowly moving to an age where tangible currency is becoming more or less wasteful and inefficient. Sure, you can save money digitally but it’s a little more satisfying to hear the “thud” of a dropped coin don’t you think? This piggy has new tricks too because the redesigned slot also accommodates paper bills.

Split Personality Notebook

Split Personality Notebook

Of all the words in the dictionary, you never associate elegance with Notebooks. But a look at the Split Concept, and I’m sure you will agree with me. Über elegant with a chic cover, the notebook is split into the various components like a tablet screen, independent keyboard, mouse and reading remote pen. All assemble together to become one great notebook or can be used individually. I really dig the sexy styling that Jung Dae Hoon has created. Not many can come up with such tasteful looking devices.

Can a Keyboard Get Better Than This?

Can a Keyboard Get Better Than This?

As you can see that the Keyboard “ABC” has a pretty glossy finish and looks like a total glam-doll! Let’s just dive into the USP; it sports a complete touch surface and can be configured to any language with customized keys. What’s really cool is that you can change the keyboard color at whim and it works well for the left-handers too. It seems to be an LCD screen for the keyboard, with built-in memory for storing files. Now that is a good feature to have. My only two grouse: saving the board from fingerprints and if it can have the Apple keyboard-esque tilt.

Functional Waking Trap

Functional Waking Trap

Search for Alarm Clock on Yanko Design and you can view from the obvious to the most bizarre ones, all under one roof. For a change we have one here that is functional: functions as an alarm clock and functions as a socket! Alternate Alarm Clock, I reckon this one is for those who can’t open an eyelid without first gulping down tea/coffee. Wakeup and hit the switch for the percolator in one go!
