Cap Sipper

Cap Sipper

Now here is a curious idea, what we have is the plastic screw-on cap of a bottle and in that cap is the sealing strip as well. When you rip put the seal, it unfurls to open up as a straw. Now I don’t know how practical this design can get, but I think it can build on to bigger, better things. It’s not the first time we are seeing lids being used as alternate functional tools. If we put our heads together, I’m sure this can be an awesome practical design.

The Real Man's Shaving Kit

The Real Man’s Shaving Kit

Though it’s something I’ve only been able to appreciate in the last year or so, I believe the right shaving kit is a man’s best friend, & can also speak volumes about someone’s personality. Hail Perret is a sexy & stylish kit by designer Niclas Andersson that celebrates the art of the traditional straight razor shave in a minimal yet natural looking roll-up pack stripped down to the bare necessities: razor, lather, bowl, bristle brush, aftershave, & face towel. Perfect for the grooming craftsman or renaissance man.

Break It On Down

Break It On Down

Let’s be honest, there’s kinda this unspoken understanding that products that are made for efficient transportation will usually reflect it in their design… and not always in a good way. The Complect coffee table is a union of simple home assembly and high quality construction that merge to create a practical flat-packing table without sacrificing style. Complect features bent plywood legs and a solid walnut table top that break down to a height of under 3.5″ and can be assembled within minutes using a common screwdriver. Gotta love this one!

Get Every Last Boba

Get Every Last Boba

Boba, bubble, pearl – whatever you call those squishy tapioca balls, they’re delicious. They’re also slippery and if you’re not skilled with fishing those little gems out with a straw, a redesigned cup might make it easier. It’s really simple. The bottom is indented inwards to create a ring – a moat of boba balls if you will. Love it!

Home Farming Can Look So Trendy!

Home Farming Can Look So Trendy!

You can mistake Éva as a modern decorative piece for restaurants, but it’s a trendy, hi-tech composter. It blends in beautifully with any interior and does a magnificent job of recycling wasted organic matter. A part of the waste is used for cultivating and maintaining a green patch and the rest is used to produce methane. I love the way it integrates and becomes a self-contained biosphere!

DIY Custom Shelving

DIY Custom Shelving

I wuvvv the practical design of this shelving system. The shelves of the S03 can be assembled to any size or combination to adapt to the desired space. For easy and cost-efficient transportation, the European beech components fit together snugly to create the smallest, most compact packing size possible.

Doggy Bag for Dogs

Doggy Bag for Dogs

Packing food for my pup, Nugget, is sometimes the last thing on my mind when we’re on the run. I inevitably buy more food than I need and have always wished there was a quick portable solution for packing dry food. Alas! Top Paw dog food packaging makes dog food to-go a much easier experience. Top Paw combines a handled, travel-size dog food container with a convenient built-in folding bowl to make feeding-time possible wherever you are.

Congrats on Your New Embryos

Congrats on Your New Embryos

Based on a set of life-sized statues that were shown at the Coarse solo exhibition in Chicago in 2010, Coarse now introduces their latest “oop” series. This first vinyl toy release in 8 months is a milestone — the start of the very first 7 inch series by coarse. This version goes back to the beginning of life, showcasing signature coarse characters in embryo form, a chance to experience them at their purest. OMG this is creepy cool!

Map Your Travels by Scratching

Map Your Travels by Scratching

The Scratch & Track concept enables you to log your travels with printable papers embedded with a scratchable surface. You print maps of your destination on the paper and scratch off where you’ve been to create an analog keepsake of your travels. It even folds up like a map! Me, myself and I are partial to the digital age but I can totally see the novelty of scratchable maps spreading as fast as hipstamatic photos.

A New Kind of Aluminum Can

A New Kind of Aluminum Can

106,000 aluminum cans are discarded every 30 seconds in the United States. Efforts to recycle the mounting heaps have met with mild success so Haoshi Studio in cooperation with PLA Studio have created a new kind of can called TIN CAN. It’s made of PLA yet it’s fully insulated and can be heated up to 110ºF. It even squishes like an aluminum can except it’s 100% organic and biodegradable.

You’ll never guess what’s inside that box. It’s some kind of miniature vault or something. Whatever’s inside must be really special. Hit the jump.

Case of the Smokey Tissue Box

Case of the Smokey Tissue Box

Back in school when we learned how to draw factories polluting the environment, I remember my art teacher teaching me this exact same design…angular roof building with black smoke billowing out of the stacks. The Smoke Tissue Case brings back those memories and I really appreciate the socio-message the design speaks of.

The Red Cross Needs This

The Red Cross Needs This

Easy access to water during a fire in the subway is next to impossible. The interim solution is to hold a soaked rag to your face. The Crack Mask is a set of emergency masks you crack open, breaking the water capsule inside. Hold the soaked mask to your face and proceed with the evacuation.
