Everyone has secrets, and the poles want to know! Designer Florian Brillet creates the newest amalgamation of the main points of secrecy: the public, and the secret itself. In Brillet’s “Secret” project the secrets are told to the public poles, and the public poles tell the secrets back to the public.
Once the secret is separate from the teller, it becomes public property.

For another out of season pool-related innovation from Lysandre Follet, we look at his Doody pH tester. Much like the canary in a coal mine, the Doody goes belly up whenever the pool’s pH level goes out of wack, allowing for fast response and fewer rashes from poor pool maintenance. What’s interesting is his re-imagining of the tester as a toy-like object you would want to leave in your pool, rather than an obtrusive set of test tubes.

When you’ve got disaster, you need heat. The Onsui (hot water) works for disaster area victims by generating heat without fire. Pour your water in the Onsui, wait a bit, pour the hot water out. Make some food, eat some beans, some crackers, and fix that disaster up.

Smoker Bench kinda sounds like a drug related peripheral or an awesome grill with ample seating but its really a bench with integrated ash receptacles. Created by designer Fatih Baltas, Smoker Bench is a project of social responsibility. In many places in America, smoking in public is illegal. What’s a chain smoker to do? Even they need a comfy spot to enjoy the slow effect of black lung. Sorry, I had to go there.
