Open Up For More Workspace

The general perception of an elegant office desk is one of a long distinguished looking table with plenty of drawers and probably fashioned out of mahogany. Coming out of the dream world and into reality, such office desks are out of our reach and we need to make-do with the flat table that comes our way. Designer Rebwar Faille comes up with a simple resolve with his idea of an office table…a mix between the school tables with concealed storage and long office desks. Perhaps not as elegant as mahogany, but functional enough!

BioErgonomic Pen Is Inspiring

BioErgonomic Pen Is Inspiring

I love a designer that understands ergonomics but I love one that understands humor even more. This BioErgonomic pen is shaped to better fit in the hands. The squatter base helps it rests between the fingers and that bump keeps it from slipping. Designer Mohsen Tafazzoly admits “usage probability for women is higher than men.” I wouldn’t count your stats too quickly. I know a lot and I do mean A LOT of men that would buy this. Oh and look, the ink color is denoted by the umm… the head.

Prism + Magnets = Pens

Prism + Magnets = Pens

Denis Klimovich has designed this delightful stationery set for all you lovely people! A stack of pens that have a magnetic appeal to cling as a cluster, shining like a bright star! Fountain pen, pencil, stylus and ballpoint, bundled together for your writing needs. Although the form kinda reminds me of the triangular Faber Castel pencils, the uniqueness lies in the entire cluster being held together with the magnet. No apparent reason for that, it’s just that sometimes we need to add a dash of the unconventional to make something stand out.

Redefining The Home Office

Redefining The Home Office

I work from home and as many may have seen I have an open desk in a secluded room. Not all working-from-home people are blessed like me to have a private office within the house. Many have to use their bedrooms or living rooms as their work area. In such homes, the office desk tends to be a complete misfit amongst the backdrop. The Buro can help redefine the office-home boundaries. It’s a desk that is perfect for your work, but once you shut the cover down, it transforms into an elegant side table. Clever!

Cutter Safe For Fingers

Cutter Safe For Fingers

Safety Cutter is a simple stationery project that looks at adding functionality to the ruler and taking care of your fingers at the same time. The cutter is integrated into the ruler for a reason…to locate it easily in your stationery stash, plus the rigid support will help you cut the sheet (or whatever it is that you were cutting) with confidence. Not a really dynamic project, but what I really found interesting was the way the blade gets a protective sheath. Look at 5th image to know what I am talking about.

Pistol Grip Mug

Pistol Grip Mug

It’s the pistol grip mug on my desk at all times. Filled with coffee and sitting there at all times. Trigger happy designer with a cup full of caffeine ammo, that’s what you’re gonna be with this sassy momma. It’s the “Kill Time Gun Mug” by ChilliChilly. It’s 7.6 oz or 225 ml of fire hot fury. Don’t let the trigger fool you though, this cuppa’s made of porcelain and paint only. The only bullets you’ll be firing is the ones out of your eyeballs when you’ve swallowed your 15th glass of joe from this cannon.

Pen Is Mightier Than The Bullet

Pen Is Mightier Than The Bullet

Being in the writing business I know the power of words and at times, the pen is mightier than the sword. Inspired by this is Choose Your Bullets – a desk accessory that is a constant reminder of the corruption, bad decisions and violence, which plague our society and everyday life. Currently retailing in Mexico, each serial-engraved piece is awaiting your decision for the day…violence or the pen?

How Quiet the Office Life

How Quiet the Office Life

If you spend the majority of your life in the office, you’ve gotta know what it means to be distracted by sound. You sit in that office five days a week, the same cube, things that would normally go over your head become utterly powerful annoyances. Your production time goes down, your quality of life goes down. How do you stay up? You get inside your “Cocoon” of sound. That’s right! Block the madness with the loving glowing loving glow of either white noise or music of your choice.

A Rule For A Man's Man

A Rule For A Man’s Man

Well here’s something clever and that means I want it! The Leather Ruler works just like any other except there’s a large piece of supple leather to provide the weight and traction necessary when drawing those important straight lines. When you’re done, just roll it up and throw it in your pack. If it seems unnecessary then let us not forget MUJI makes a crap load of money selling items just like this. People would definitely buy it.

Sharpen Pencil, Get Eraser

Sharpen Pencil, Get Eraser

So you’ve got a pencil and you need it sharp. You need it so sharp that you’d be able to draw a really sharp picture of your favorite Yanko Design design. That’s right, you could draw the Dew Capturing Pyramid, the doo doo weighing toilet seat, or the wishbone MP3 player. Draw it. Sharp pencil, and woo! You get a bonus with this little mama. You get an eraser made out of the wood you chopped off the pencil.

G.D. Health Fading Fast

G.D. Health Fading Fast

Running out of time! Death is coming to get me! That’s exactly what you think when you work for hours and hours and hours on project after project, be you a graphic designer, industrial designer, interior designer, exterior designer, whatever! Now. How can one solve such a problem of melting into the seat we sit in all day long? Exercise of course. But what one to do! If only there were a sort of Twister-esque… clock!

The Boss’s Door

The Boss’s Door

One theory suggests that to keep office efficiency at maximum levels, employees should have minimum personal interaction. Meaning no chit-chats or coffee-breaks together, just emails and IMs! Supporting this theory is the Electronic Office Screen Door that embeds an electronic imaging screen underneath the sheer veneer and above the wood. It has its pros and cons….like you can always display a “Busy In A Meeting” message before that nagging accounts guy wants to come in for bills clarifications. Or that guy who got the promotion can keep rubbing the “New Manager” title in your face!
