Sticky Steamroller

Sticky Steamroller

If you guessed that this is the latest in heavy construction machinery, congratulations, you’re… WRONG! It’s not a steamroller at all! The latest from OTOTO, this deceiving design is actually a handy tape dispenser that will add a little character to your desktop. It makes tearing tape strips a cinch and, if you’re like me and constantly misplace your spare tape, the rear wheel opens to store extra rolls.

Desktop Warmth

Desktop Warmth

My Luncbox is a very nifty appliance to have in your office. It takes away the bother of queuing up in front of the office microwave at lunchtime. A USB enabled base hooks up to your laptop for power sourcing and heats up the warming element in a jiffy. Simply place your lunchbox on top of the warmer, set your time and temperature, and it’s all set. It will even pop a message on your laptop to let you know that lunch is warm and ready to be served. Awesome!

Foldable Tablet PC for your knee

Foldable Tablet PC for your knee

The following project is a tablet made to fold into many different forms and sit nicely inside the Fujitsu brand. It’s important to note that this project was only designed to look nice inside the Fujitsu brand scheme, and is not an official project – that said, it does look so futuristic and tablet fantastic, we wouldn’t be surprised if Fujitsu’s eyebrows weren’t raised when they lay their eyes upon it. Behold the Breathebook.

Heaven's Reception Desk

Heaven’s Reception Desk

As part of a complete renovation of the showroom for the furniture brand Prestige Group in Nicosia, Cyprus- this bare, skeletal yet organic desk stands as the focal point of the updated and ultramodern reception area. Inspired by the Besparmak Mountains in North Cyprus, the sculptural desk has a rolling, cloud-like appearance that contrasts with the sharp matrix of square screens that cover the wall behind it.

What God's Office Might Look Like

What God’s Office Might Look Like

This collaboration between Zsanett Benedek and Daniel Lakos gives a completely new and fresh feeling to Lakos’ original designs that were finished in a beech veneer. The aim of the designers was to find harmony between large surfaces and lightness, between a mass and a shell. This updated pure white version of the Alba Collection is nothing short of heavenly.

SuperBugs: Bugs with Powers!

SuperBugs: Bugs with Powers!

You must be familiar with the culture of eating insects as delicacies but the truth is that they are a staple in many societies. We have here two projects that go beyond the nutritional power of insects and looks into how their farming can help in the infrastructural setup of the urban jungle, as we know it. Come have a look….

Dapper Davenport

Dapper Davenport

I’m loving this solid wood desk by designer Shpelyk Roman. With a swinging top level and two planes to work on, it achieves the functionality of a multi-level desk while still maintaining aesthetic minimalism. The tapered, wide-stance legs are an interesting compliment to the square top and can be removed for easy transportation simply by twisting. Great as a desk or table for the small work studio or apartment.

Split Table

Split Table

At first sight the Split Table seems to be like any other, but take a closer examination and you’ll see there are no nuts, bolts or glue. The table is held together only by tension and flexibility between its plywood pieces. The functional joints is as much a part of the aesthetic as it is the construction. Best of all, you can own the limited series table here!

Space Saving Cable Clip

The ISI clip provides a straightforward and super easy way of managing computer and power cables. The simple, flexible steel clamp can be placed on the edge of any standard size desk or leg to keep cords in order and out of the user’s way.

CalenClock

CalenClock

Now here’s a calendar with a little attitude. Inspired by the relationship between calendar dates and hourly time, the Calenclock combines both into a clever all-in-one desktop solution. Hour and minute hands hover over split-page days that each present a unique message ranging from “No Public Holidays, Work Hard!” to “Trick or Treat!”

Design, Draw, Repeat

Design, Draw, Repeat

Inspired by similar creative methodologies, designer Duncan McKean’s Iterations cards are geared specifically towards product designers. Each card has an input as well as a set of ambiguous instructions that will get your creative juices flowing. Experiencing “designer’s block?” simply start with your concept sketch, draw a card, and add to your concept based around your interpretation of what the card says.

Beautifully Odd Desk

Nico Yektai’s handcrafted Desk #2 is focused on the notion of movement to create not only a functional and ergonomic piece of furniture but also a striking structural decoration that will look great in a number of settings from the craftsman cabin to the ultramodern loft.

Leave Me Alone!

Leave Me Alone!

Nothing says “get the f#&% away from my desk” quite like the Efi space divider! Okay, so I’m half-kidding, but it really does provide one very unique way of isolating oneself from others. Lowering the ring blocks nearby visual and phonic distractions, allowing the user to focus on the work at hand. I don’t know about you, but I can certainly think of times that I could shut everyone out at work (as silly as it might look!).
