Disposable products are widely used in mainland China, especially in hotels. Statistics indicate that about 25 billion pieces of disposal products are used every year in China’s registered hotels. Even before the inclusion of the unregistered hotels, this poses a significant threat to the environment. Disposable slippers make up a large proportion of these disposable products.

The design involved the outer casing acting infact as the packaging so once bought no packaging would be thrown away, thus reducing one of the largest waste sources society is currently tackling. Narcissistic Frames by Marina Bautier

Narcissistic Frames by Marina Bautier

This set counterbalances the narcissistic characteristic of a mirror by superposing them with wooden frames. When we take our keys and gloves just before going out, our reflection is melting partially into a still nature in constant evolution. Between presence and image, a multi functional set whose minimalist plasticity contrasts with the dynamism of the life which it reflects.

Hood Chair by Broberg Ridderstrale

Hood Chair by Broberg Ridderstrale

This chair originates from a workshop with the Campana brothers in 2003. The theme was “containment” and “constructing from deconstruction”. Furniture often take new shapes when they are being used. The user can, for example, alter the appearance of a chair by laying his/her coat over the seat and there by quietly stating “taken”.
