When furniture is fused with high tech kit the results are often about as comfortable and stylish as sandpaper g-string. But the new Speaker Chair by designer Pinju Chen defies the norm with its charmingly curvaceous lines and comfy interior cushion, which sent us from nought to napping in only a few seconds… until we were suddenly awoken by some beefy rock riffs.

A magazine rack designed to purposely look disheveled and disorganized. Each rack can be rearranged to create all kinds of chaos tho I have a feeling, as anal as I am, I’d probably just line them all up in a neat way. Ugh, that so defeats the purpose.

Not by itself of course. You have to do it yourself but what’s interesting here is that it can be used as a chair or chaise lounge. The design is a bit weird with that heeled foot. They should have taken it a step further and lined the interior frame with rawhide and wood to triple as a cat nook.

When we go out and buy that big piece of furniture, we usually know exactly what it’s for. However, what if that piece of furniture could be reinterpreted differently by people. Take for instance this design by Yoon-Zee Kim. To one person it may simple be funky shelving. To another, it’s seating and a desk. Take a look around at your stuff. Do you see other uses for them?

Sounds horrible doesn’t it? Why would anyone want a backbreaking chair? Actually it’s called the Bench-Lighting Break (play on words) and tho it looks uncomfortable, at the very least its Star Trek archetype will appeal to some people.

$400 for a pair of Chimmy Choo’s, $150 for some Air Jordan’s, and $900 for some Gucci’s. Seriously, at these prices they do not deserved to be shoved into a closet. These things need to be displayed. Imagine a small grassy area on your wall with rearrangeable hooks to hang your shoes from. That’s the idea behind Hyun Jung Lee’s Shoe Picnic, because every shoe has its place. Now all your friends and family can admire you expensive ass shoes.

Perfect for kicking shoes off or slinging clothes over, G-Force is the quintessential wardrobe chair. At 36″ tall, this fiberglass chair is lightweight, sturdy, and super sleek. Its irregular organic shape stems from the idea of malleable materials being exposed to extreme g-forces. Of course we know it’ll end up as a place to leave your clothing on which is why the “head” is perfect for hanging a coat.

Inspired by a flowering tree, this powder-coated steel hook is both a beautiful piece of sculpture and a useful means of organizing all of those scarves, hats, and coats on the wall. Tree Hooked is modular and can be displayed vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. It’s also exceptionally easy to install. The display possibilities are limitless–branch out!

You’re out with friends in a cafe and the tables only set 3 when there are 5 of you. What to do? You could sit separately or try and merge two tables together but on an emotional level, there’s a disconnect because you’re “not at the same table”.

E_Volve_Table heralds a new era in the design of tables. The design was inspired by natural fluid patterns and naturally grown shapes. This approach was translated into an initial digital model, which was subsequently optimized using digital structural and artificial intelligence algorithms.

Swiss-born, Paris-based designer Mattia Bonetti once described himself as a ‘troublemaker turned traditionalist’. Working with his then partner Elisabeth Garouste, the pair carved out quite a name for themselves in the art/design market during the late 1970s to late 1990s with dazzling creations in a style sometimes condemned as ‘barbaric’.

Binary examines the relationship of surface to core. The top is a sandwich of Baltic birch ply between two sheets of matte white Formica Colourcore™ laminate. Cutting through the laminate, to reveal a shallow circular walnut tray and edge offers a stratigraphic presence, allowing the richness of the walnut to speak against the neutrality of the white.
