The general referral to “sex toys” is always a crass, overrated innuendo towards dark guilty pleasures. Adding a certain degree of maturity and respectability to this industry is the Genesis line of products for Luxury-Pleasures. Inspired by the theory that God created the world in seven days, this collection includes seven deadly sins that will break the shackles of missionary and treat you to untold ecstasies. For each day of the week you can assign your special erotica and play God yourself.

Original Text:

On the first day God created light.

Dildo, hot wax candle made with white beeswax and silver base.
Beeswax symbolizes the virgin flesh of Christ and the Virgin Mary.
Candles: white beeswax.
Base: polished solid silver.

The second day God created the sky.

The choice of colors is very particular: The blue sky representing Virgin Mary. She is often depicted with a blue coat called maphorion. Green is also used to represent the Virgin with the Child Jesus. The red roses are a symbol of virginity. Blind fold inspired by the stole of the priest.
Blue silk and silk embroidered from St Gallen, Switzerland (Haute Couture).

On the third day God created vegetation.

The ring symbolizes the union between God and Man. It is made in black ebony like most Black Madonnas. These figures are associated with rites of fertility and sexuality. The choker necklace is made specifically with thirty three links like the Rosary of Precious Blood which contains thirty three grains referring to the years of earthly life of Jesus.
Cock Ring: black ebony from Gabon. Hand made.
Necklace: Solid Silver.

On the fourth day God created the stars.

Horn inspired by the crescent moon, symbol of regeneration. Moses is often depicted with horns symbols of strength and wisdom, which are also symbols for the Devil and destruction.
Hand-made Glass Dildo with 23 carats gold leaf.

On the fifth day God created birds and fishes.

Inspired by St. Francis who talked to birds and animals, and who wore a scapular (devotional necklace made of small pieces of fabric that some priests wear on their chests and on their back on top of their clothing). The rooster feathers symbolizes the arrival and resurrection of Jesus. In medieval liturgy, priests used a broom made of feathers (flabellum) to sweep the air and symbolize the heavenly powers who supported Jesus during the night of his death. Necklace for caressing and tickling; made in solid silver, pink gold and rooster feathers.

On the sixth day God created Man.

The marble refers to death like the altar in the church represents the Holly Sepulchre. It contains 39 braids, the maximum number of lashes in religious punishments in Jesus’ time. The whip is made with human hair with silver ligatures and Carrara marble.

The seventh day is the rest.

The diary starts with the first 7 days of Genesis written by St. Jerome, from the first printed edition of the Gutenberg Bible. It is followed by 365 pages to write a diary about your own sins and fantasies.
Dairy: Cover: black lamb leather with artisanal binding.
40g paper referred as “bible” type.

You love the cold water. For when you want ice in a nice place, there is the “Iced Carafe.” Design team “Officeoriginair” brings you what’s basically a simple contraption, made simply for having wonderful time! Molded plastic with a rubber stopper, made in such a fashion that if you freeze an amount of water in the bottle while it’s on it’s side, the ice will stay put!

Full on cold your entire drink experience.

The ice. It sticks to the inside of the bottle, on the side. It makes the whole drink cold. The whole time you drink it. And if you just sit there and wait to see if the ice will fall off into your drink, you’ll notice that once it does, it’s still a giant hunk of ice, a vertical piece of ice, which is still keeping your drink cold.

Viva vertical ice!

Women have their purses and men have their wallets – so the stereotype goes. However in this day and age, we are seeing more and more unisex items made available that touch both the feminine and masculine side of all of us. I have to be honest here, my man’s wallets, they have always seemed so boring and plain. I was searching online a couple of months back for a nice new wallet upgrade to give my hunny for Christmas this year, and stumbled upon these guys: Dosh – Wallet as Art.

I couldn’t quit looking at the variety of groovy styled wallets available. The super friendly guys over at Dosh were kind enough to send me a little variety package of their wallets. When I opened the box and looked at the individualized packaging of each style, I became quite overwhelmed and couldn’t make the decision which one to try out first. After choosing one, I began to grab the money and cards from my boring little wallet and start placing them in the Dosh. I set out to the stores for a little retail therapy and an opportunity to show off my Dosh. When I whipped out the Dosh at the register, everyone did a second take and even asked me where I got it. Over the course of the past month, this retail therapy session was repeated. With each new wallet came new comments and compliments. I felt like the “it” girl around my neighborhood. The cool thing about these wallets is that they are made of a flexible thermoplastic polyurethane which makes them soft, water-resistant and gives them a longer life. Is there a Dosh purse in the near future? Good-bye dirty, pealing, cheap leather wallets, hello Dosh!

What we liked:

Variety of styles offered

Variety of colors

Incredible individualized packaging

Flexibility

Water-resistant

Unique design both interior and exterior

What could be improved:

More inserts to place cards

A little difficult to remove bills that are placed inside the wallet

Pure luxe, that’s how I’m going to start off this review. Carbon fiber is a favorite material of ours here at Yanko Design as seen in much of branding collateral. Woven carbon set in epoxy -that’s all it is yet quality is dictated by a level of craftsmanship normally reserved for one of a kind products. We got our hands on the Purisme Carbon Fiber Letter Opener by designer Mario Zeppetzauer. It’s an expensive proposition for opening envelopes but one every dapper individual must own. I am smitten.

I’m not the only one who agrees. The Purisme Letter Opener is also a Red Dot 2008 and Bio.21 award winner. That’s an impressive list of accolades for something most people wouldn’t even consider “designing.”

If you’ve never laid bare eyes on carbon fiber before – make sure you do on something of quality. Done right, the shimmering 3D effect is futuristic. The woven pattern glitters and ripples as light passes across from different angles. The letter opener itself is incredibly lightweight, barely 17 gr. The handle is smoothly carved to fit easily in palm. The shaft looks deceptively sharp but it’s quite blunt. It measures 25 cm in length. The true test is opening envelopes without veering off and it performs admirably.

For 350 Euros ($450 U.S.), you’d probably pass it up for a standard plastic or metal opener. No, the Purisme Letter Opener isn’t for everyone but for those who appreciate modern design, luxury, and a little opulence, you can’t beat it. It comes beautifully packaged in a felt lined case usually reserved for hand crafted pens. From stem to stern, it oozes steely luxury.

Move over cheap radio alarm clock because for the past month I’ve been trying out the Etón P’9120 designed by the venerable Porsche Design company – yes the same one that makes those uber sexy cars. If music is your ace then you’ll be happy to know it handles nearly all digital delivery forms, including docking up with your iPod, Touch, and iPhone, radio, and integrated XM satellite. There’s even a built-in subwoofer and of course, 2 separate alarms because you never wake up on the first alarm.

The Porsche Design P’9120 captures the essence of what made Porsche Design legendary: a clean, linear shape. A design that is engineered. A form that reflects functionality. Its audio performance stays true to the Etón name presenting a new generation of radios. Multi band radio reception is projected through three full range speakers cleverly hidden as control knobs and a powerful subwoofer in the rear.

Tho small it’s by no means super compact. There was barely room for it and my lamp on my nightstand. Think of it as a compact stereo minus the speakers. Acoustically, it puts my old radio alarm clock to shame. The sound is rich, full, and surprisingly fills the entire room, no doubt in thanks to Etón’s double wall construction. The entire unit seems to be made of metal, save for the knobs and the glossy face backed by an alphanumeric OLED monochrome display.

There’s even a metal remote with a built-in torch light. I’m not sure what to use the torch light for but hey! Why not right? The grid layout doesn’t feel very user-friendly and the solid metal buttons don’t illuminate which makes controlling this thing in the dark near impossible. IMHO Porsche Design should have backlight the buttons and got rid of the torch light.

In use, the P’9120 is super easy to use. Each knob controls a particular function – mode, tuning, and volume. The same controls are repeated on the remote. The separate iPod/Touch/iPhone dock is solid and sturdy, obviously not an afterthought in design to satisfy current trends. To my surprise it doesn’t officially support the iPhone but I found none of the typical distortion associated with unshielded stereos. To my even bigger surprise the remote has all the buttons necessary to navigate the iPhone’s iPod application. Moving back and forth between categories and playlists was super easy. It even charges your device. Gotta love that.

A unique feature is the integrated XM Radio satellite service. It only works if you’re a subscriber so I was unable to test it however there is a large satellite antenna in the rear so I assume it works. Fortunately when not in use, it neatly folds and tucks away out of sight.

What we liked:

Amazing design. Speaks to Porsche’s design aesthetically beautifully.

Packaging is incredible. It put’s Apple’s packaging to shame. Clearly designed for the luxury market and those who can afford it.

Build is impressive. Brushed aluminum. The remote is even made of solid metal.

User interface is simple and intuitive. OLED display is bright and clear.

Volume levels ramp up with very little distortion. Solid bass and treble, both of which can be adjusted.

Integrated XM Radio satellite.

Rich acoustics. Easily fills up my bedroom.

3.5mm AUX stereo jack and line out for external analogue audio input.

Full support for Apple’s line of music players. iPhone unofficially supported.

Remote controls the iPod’s and iPhone’s menus intuitively.

Recharges iPod/Touch/iPhone.

What could be improved:

Remote control should be backlight.

The $600 price tag is exorbitant. You’re clearly paying not only for function but also Porsche’s design prowess and brand name.

One thing I love about the design is how it looks more like an entertainment appliance as opposed to a cheap plastic radio alarm clock. If you plan on using it with your TV or DVD player – it’ll fit in perfectly. Tho the design skews towards men and those with masculine tastes, I can’t imagine any other radio alarm clock destined to be one of the center pieces of a bachelor pad.

If you don’t know the now legendary story of the mother of all vaporware companies Infinium Labs and their fabled Phantom Gaming Console, I won’t bore you with those details. Suffice to say the company famous for not delivering on a gaming dream has delivered a pretty decent gaming/multimedia keyboard and mouse. The Phantom Lapboard was originally designed to accompany a console gaming system that never arrived. But in the aftermath of that car crash, a shining little hubcap rolled out of the wreckage in the form of a keyboard/ mouse combo that is both ergonomically sound and aesthetically pleasing enough in comparison to all other keyboards outside the latest Apple creations.

As the name implies, this “lapboard” is deigned to sit on your lap. The keyboard/mouse combo has two unique features that set it apart from all the others. It has the ability to rotate 360 degrees in any direction. This is helpful for left handers (Including me) that tend to do our point and clicking on the other side of the playing field. Another key design feature is the keyboards ability to not only rotate a full 360 degrees but also tilt forward to what seems to be a 22 degree angle. This is perfect for sitting on your sofa while surfing the internet. When the lapboard is in its tilted position, a flat surface is revealed underneath giving you a perfect place to place the included wireless mouse. I am typing this review on the Lapboard and am trying to find something of note that I am not pleased with. If i wanted to get picky I might complain that the mouse seems a little cheap with fit and finish and a little flimsy. I may also whine that for a keyboard designed for casual living room use, the inclusion of backlit keys might have been a consideration.

All in all, this lapboard design does provide you with everything promised by the manufacturer. It is the perfect keyboard/mouse combo for gaming casually, not to be confused with “casual gaming”. Gaming casually is being able to play your favorite game while sitting comfortably at your sofa or bed. “Casual gaming” is a whole other post and has nothing to do with this review. The Phantom Lapboard is the first and only product from Infinium Labs to date and a healthy start. It is not the latest in technology (but they never promised that). It is however a clever and useful design for anyone looking to have a solution for computing casually. Both PC and MAC compatible, the Phantom Lapboard comes with a wireless mouse and USB dongle.

Scott Amron is one of those designers that I can’t tell if he is poking fun at the design industry or more an idiot savant that designs some of the most simplistic ideas that actually make sense on a very rudimentary level. Case in point, this latest idea called “Cash Money Clip”. It’s a money clip made from a couple of magnets and a bill of currency. He calls each one a “limited design”, because all paper currency in any country is uniquely numbered and therefore by its nature a “limited edition”. Genius? You decide.

Listen up, today’s man carries way more stuff than his pockets can hold. You’ve got keys, money, identification, mobile phone, MP3 player, wireless headset, pen, maybe even a checkbook and portable gaming system to pass time. The Setgo line of urban accessories makes this man’s pockets lighter while keeping him at arm’s reach of everything he needs.

Designer Nathan Leon has come up with a line of sleek, utilitarian bags and accessories that don’t scream metro. Any man would feel comfortable carrying these. I had an opportunity to try them out this past week and have mostly praise for it. To preface, some would call me metrosexual. I always have some sort of bag with me (man bag, murse).

That being said, the Setgo Transport (slingpack as I call it), had no trouble carrying everything I take with me. Made entirely out of nylon, the front has an array of elastic straps to hold down most of your flat electronic gadgets. It was a little too tight for my iphone but I managed. The rear is a huge zippered compartment for bigger items. I found it to be a perfect home for my checkbook, Nintendo DS, keys, and wallet – items I don’t necessarily want to advertise owning to the public.

Speaking of wallet and keys, Setgo has both ends covered. I must say the wallet is very nice. It’s not the best quality leather but the construction is grade A. It’s soft, very thin – yet holds a ton of stuff without bulking up too much. There isn’t much to say about the keychain except that it’s sold metal. For what it’s worth, it held my keys very well.

Would I recommend it? Definitely, especially since nothing is over $80 U.S. There’s a lot of utility in a very sleek, sexy, masculine package – something many soft good manufacturers miss.

What is the true measure of a liquid? Is it the color of its molecules? Is it its density? or maybe its viscosity..? Whatever it is, the “Cube Jigger” by Josh Owen for Kikkerland has six ways to measure your liquids in the most commonly measured form…its volume. This design evolved from an experiment to compress the six most common liquid measures into the smallest possible dispenser. Fascinating stuff. For no other reason but to get tech blogs talking, expect a USB powered Cube Jigger soon.

Fingers Notebook Stand Also Manages Your Cables

Fingers is made of clear acrylic and it features a laser-cut pattern of slots which are used to accommodate loose computer cables. The keyboard’s sloping position results in improved typing comfort and better processor ventilation, while the screen is raised closer to eyelevel offering better ergonomics.

Designer: Oof Design [ Buy It Here ]

Here’s information from the designer:

Fingers is a unique laptop computer stand that offers an innovative solution for organising cables. It is placed on the desktop so that cables can be attached on it when they are not in use and it allows the laptop to be positioned ergonomically.

When a user disconnects his laptop and takes it away from peripheral devices like printers, scanners etc. the cables that are left behind may fall on the floor and may become entangled and inaccessible. When the user returns to his workspace he becomes frustrated by having to look for the cables and by having to untangle and reorganise them in order to reconnect them to the laptop.

Fingers solves the problem by accommodating cables in a specially shaped pattern of slots (patent pending) so that when the user returns the laptop to his desk the cables are all laid out in an organised manner allowing straightforward reconnection. In addition, Fingers brings the laptop screen higher and closer to the user’s eyelevel which enhances cooling and results in a more suitable position for typing, thereby improving usability.
