The Real Man's Shaving Kit

The Real Man’s Shaving Kit

Though it’s something I’ve only been able to appreciate in the last year or so, I believe the right shaving kit is a man’s best friend, & can also speak volumes about someone’s personality. Hail Perret is a sexy & stylish kit by designer Niclas Andersson that celebrates the art of the traditional straight razor shave in a minimal yet natural looking roll-up pack stripped down to the bare necessities: razor, lather, bowl, bristle brush, aftershave, & face towel. Perfect for the grooming craftsman or renaissance man.

The Very Urban Heist

The Very Urban Heist

Crumpler, an Australian bag company, creates chic and smart urban bags, particularly their Heist Collection. The range is an ode to the working professional who doesn’t believe in sacrificing style. Each of the four Heist bags are designed to carry your tech gear and accommodates a 15 or 17 inch Macbook. A common thread between all four bags is a padded laptop sleeve, two internal pockets and a zipped external pocket.

Genesis of Love Making

Genesis of Love Making

The general referral to “sex toys” is always a crass, overrated innuendo towards dark guilty pleasures. Adding a certain degree of maturity and respectability to this industry is the Genesis line of products for Luxury-Pleasures. Inspired by the theory that God created the world in seven days, this collection includes seven deadly sins that will break the shackles of missionary and treat you to untold ecstasies. For each day of the week you can assign your special erotica and play God yourself.

Unisex Wallet – Dosh Wallet Review

Unisex Wallet – Dosh Wallet Review

Women have their purses and men have their wallets – so the stereotype goes. However in this day and age, we are seeing more and more unisex items made available that touch both the feminine and masculine side of all of us. I have to be honest here, my man’s wallets, they have always seemed so boring and plain. I was searching online a couple of months back for a nice new wallet upgrade to give my hunny for Christmas this year, and stumbled upon these guys: Dosh – Wallet as Art.

Carbon Fiber Purisme Letter Opener Review

Carbon Fiber Purisme Letter Opener Review

Pure luxe, that’s how I’m going to start off this review. Carbon fiber is a favorite material of ours here at Yanko Design as seen in much of branding collateral. Woven carbon set in epoxy -that’s all it is yet quality is dictated by a level of craftsmanship normally reserved for one of a kind products. We got our hands on the Purisme Carbon Fiber Letter Opener by designer Mario Zeppetzauer. It’s an expensive proposition for opening envelopes but one every dapper individual must own. I am smitten.

For the Playboy with Everything, Porsche Design P'9120 Review.

For the Playboy with Everything, Porsche Design P’9120 Review.

Move over cheap radio alarm clock because for the past month I’ve been trying out the Etón P’9120 designed by the venerable Porsche Design company – yes the same one that makes those uber sexy cars. If music is your ace then you’ll be happy to know it handles nearly all digital delivery forms, including docking up with your iPod, Touch, and iPhone, radio, and integrated XM satellite. There’s even a built-in subwoofer and of course, 2 separate alarms because you never wake up on the first alarm.

Ghost is the Machine: The Phantom Lapboard Review

Ghost is the Machine: The Phantom Lapboard Review

If you don’t know the now legendary story of the mother of all vaporware companies Infinium Labs and their fabled Phantom Gaming Console, I won’t bore you with those details. Suffice to say the company famous for not delivering on a gaming dream has delivered a pretty decent gaming/multimedia keyboard and mouse. The Phantom Lapboard was originally designed to accompany a console gaming system that never arrived.

This design is sooo money

This design is sooo money

Scott Amron is one of those designers that I can’t tell if he is poking fun at the design industry or more an idiot savant that designs some of the most simplistic ideas that actually make sense on a very rudimentary level. Case in point, this latest idea called “Cash Money Clip”. It’s a money clip made from a couple of magnets and a bill of currency.

Setgo, Sharp and Functional Urban Accessories Review

Setgo, Sharp and Functional Urban Accessories Review

Listen up, today’s man carries way more stuff than his pockets can hold. You’ve got keys, money, identification, mobile phone, MP3 player, wireless headset, pen, maybe even a checkbook and portable gaming system to pass time. The Setgo line of urban accessories makes this man’s pockets lighter while keeping him at arm’s reach of everything he needs.

What's up my Jigger?

What’s up my Jigger?

What is the true measure of a liquid? Is it the color of its molecules? Is it its density? or maybe its viscosity..? Whatever it is, the “Cube Jigger” by Josh Owen for Kikkerland has six ways to measure your liquids in the most commonly measured form…its volume. This design evolved from an experiment to compress the six most common liquid measures into the smallest possible dispenser.
