Prehistoric Roarrr! Pleo Review

Prehistoric Roarrr! Pleo Review

Every Pleo is autonomous. Yes, each one begins life as a newly-hatched baby Camarasaurus, but that’s where predictability ends and individuality begins. Like any creature, Pleo feels hunger and fatigue – offset by powerful urges to explore and be nurtured. He’ll graze, nap and toddle about on his own -when he feels like it! Pleo dinosaur can change his mind and his mood, just as you do. Is this the future of pet ownership? Find out after the jump.

It’s Tea Time! Sorapot Review

It’s here, we got it and have been drinking tea like there’s no tomorrow – Joey Roth’s Sorapot. How excited was I to open such a beautifully packaged teapot! It’s important to note all the packaging materials are 100% recycled. The Sorapot is a modern teapot, with its architectural shape and simple functionality designed to bring the quiet beauty of tea and brewing tea into focus. How well does it perform? B&W Zeppelin iPod Speaker Review

B&W Zeppelin iPod Speaker Review

There are few companies who evoke experience and know-how in speaker design as Bowers & Wilkins do. The company has over 40 years of history creating some of the best sound experiences for consumers and audiophiles alike. I had the opportunity to review their Zeppelin Speaker for the iPod. It’s been getting rave reviews from customers and won a Gold 2008 IDEA award. Kudos to Native Design. Must be good right?

Alien Saucer Lands. FRED Humidifier Review

Alien Saucer Lands. FRED Humidifier Review

Living in L.A. means dealing with desert heat and the dry conditions that accompany it. I’ve used a number of humidifiers in the past and tho all performed as expected – they always ended back in the box relegated to the back of a closet. After using the FRED Humidifer by Swizz Style for several weeks, I’ve come to realize why my closet is filled with a bunch of past contenders.

SENZ Umbrella Review. Marry Poppins Watch Out!

SENZ Umbrella Review. Marry Poppins Watch Out!

The SENZ Umbrella is the most unique umbrella I’ve ever seen and used and that’s saying a lot because how “designed” can an umbrella be? What makes the SENZ different is its aerodynamic shape which keeps rain off your back and withstands up to 70 mph winds. I tried it out and found a couple other unique features that make this umbrella a must have for any rain drenched area.

Lick Your Way to a Better You

Lick Your Way to a Better You

Have you ever imagined that you could lick on a lollipop and change the way you think? I am not talking about some illegal hallucinogenic drug, but a legal way to changing how you think or do things. Eye Candy can. Even though the concept sounds like something from the “Electric Kool-aid Acid Test”, Eye Candy uses a Sensory Substitution Technology to naturally send vibrant, emotive images to your mind.

Bluetooth Headset Happy. Jawbone II Review

Bluetooth Headset Happy. Jawbone II Review

Like many places, California implemented a new law prohibiting cellular use without a handsfree device while driving. Ironically that’s when Jawbone contacted me to do a review on their second generation bluetooth headset. Same aesthetic but significantly smaller, lighter, and improved sound quality. What more could one ask for?

Bobby Bouché - That's good H2O!

Bobby Bouché – “That’s good H2O!”

One of my biggest pet peeves is plastic water bottles. I can’t stand the water bottle culture that has been raging for years now. Everyone needing 24/7 “hydration” is just a bunch of pseudo-science hooey invented by water marketers. Sure water is essential for sustaining life, but do we really need to be spending so much money and landfill space on simple drinking water? RKS, designers of the MIMIQUE mobile phone concept have gotten together with KOR Water to address the issue of irresponsible water bottlers and consumers.

Mixed Music Medium

Mixed Music Medium

Making a mixed tape for someone you fancied was my generations version of writing poetry or a love letter. Not only did we focus on selecting just the right tracks to include and try to time it to the second, we also focused hours of creative energy in illustrating the mix tape cover with heart felt doodles and clever visual references.

Get Inked....and some beer

Get Inked….and some beer

Are you a little burnt like me? Not necessarily from smoking anything, you just have a mind full of “more important” things than menial tasks like grocery shopping. Well for all you sub-genius’ out there, this next item up for bids is right up your grocery aisle. Don’t look like a crack-head and just write willy-nilly all over your body words like Melons, Coke or Tampons. Get organized and pick up some “To-Do Tattoos” by Andy Ward for Fred & Friends.

Pimp my QWERTY

Pimp my QWERTY

With the tech blogs getting all hot and bothered over Art Lebedev’s Optimus Maximus keyboard and it’s customizable OLED keys, we thought we would show off a slightly more analog version of the same concept. At no where near the Optimus Maximus price of nearly $2,000 USDs, this $30 version called “Keyboard Shortcut Skins” by Photojojo serves essentially the exact same function.
