Not Your Granddad’s Building Blocks

Block & Blockele is a novel building block system of characters, figures and elements that interlock with each other in an unlimited number of ways. The idea is to construct toys (or anything you can imagine) by combining abstract three-dimensional elements with surface graphics that transform each element into a unique character or element. PSP 2 Makes Pocket Bulges Almost R-rated

PSP 2 Makes Pocket Bulges Almost R-rated

Sony just barely updated the PSP but designer Tai Chiem is already thinking about the next iteration. His design calls for a flexible OLED display that can be conveniently rolled. An electric charge powering the display stiffens it while providing near bezeless prime real estate for gaming. Stereo speakers on either side double as a jog wheel and camera control. He also envisages Sony finally implementing two joysticks. Pipe dream or not, it’s sexy and lives up to its name; it don’t get any more portable than this.

A Piggy Saved is a Piggy Earned

A Piggy Saved is a Piggy Earned

Teaching children early about saving money is important, especially in today’s world. What fun for the children to learn this concept by using The Mini Pogo and Pogo Stool Toy. Designed by Joel Escalona, The Mini Pogo is a combination of a toy and a modernized version of the Piggy Bank that will hold the coins the children place inside encouraging them to save their money. The larger Pogo is a functioning stool and a toy.

A Game for the Mentally and Dexterously Gifted

A Game for the Mentally and Dexterously Gifted

Mobius PLAY is a toy/puzzle by designers Paul Sandip and Suhasini. It challenges manual dexterity and mental concentration. The toy constitutes a continuous mobius ring having its ends permanently joined together and a dual snout magnetic roller. One has to hold the mobius ring in one hand and try to move the magnetic roller along the track. Just looking at it and trying to figure out how. . . is brain teasing me. Beautiful concept – a toy sexy enough to stand as an art piece.

Designer Marko Pavlovic believes it engages children on an emotional level and encourages growth thru the development of investigative and problem solving skills. Intrigued?

Looks pretty decent and features a 3.2 megapixel cam round back, full frontal webcam action and the most notable aspect. a slide-up QWERTY keyboard!

Tic ciT, Tac caT, Toe eoT

Tic ciT, Tac caT, Toe eoT

Let’s reflect on the futility of some endeavors in life. I will borrow a chunk of a favorite Alicia Silverstone quote, playing Tic Tac Toe is as futile as “searching for meaning in a Pauli Shore movie…” One of the first games I ever learned to play as a child was Tic Tac Toe. The lesson I am assuming to be learned with Tic Tac Toe is that life is about the journey, because the destination is the same no matter what you do.
