Wii Robot?

Wii Robot?

Now that everybody and they momma are doing motion controls, what’s Nintendo to do next? Ask designer Florence Boob (yes for serious) and you’ll get the Wii-Robot. OMG Wii-bot! Working under the assumption that everybody and they momma loves robots (true), the Wii-Robot is the little R2-D2 companion you’ve always wanted. It flies and follows you around, inviting you to play games it projects onto any flat surface. The controller is a sphere laced with motion controls. Loves!

This Is Not Braille Rubik

This Is Not Braille Rubik

On two occasions we have showcased how to keep our blind friends entertained. It’s been Rubiks all this while, but if they crave something different then here is something more challenging; The Huarong! It’s an ancient Chinese game of intellectual toys which includes judgment of textures and sense of shapes. I wouldn’t want to dilute the explanation to the game, so I have left it intact for you to read in the accompanying pictures. Have a look….

Braille Ball for All to Learn

Braille Ball for All to Learn

The Braille system of raised-dots writing has always mystified me. It seems like so much magic that a person can read words and sentences by feeling bumps on a page. But it works. It exists and it is widespread. Braille dots can be found all around the world, in public and private places in every city. It COULD be more useful than it already is, but one of the largest problems in the way of this reality is the amount of people who haven’t learned to decipher the system. Danielle Pecora’s here to rectify that with a bit of fun.

Global Game of Intuition

Global Game of Intuition

From the sweet streets of the Czech Republic comes this fabulous learning game made by designer Karel Vranek. This was originally a school project at the Academy of Arts – Architecture and Design Prague under the instructor Ivan Dlabac. This is a game totally based on intuition. This game is a ball, it’s probably totally a ball to play, and it completely lights up. This game goes by the name “Welcome!” and it’s made to teach every little person to get along through play. Check this sphere out.

Dolls N Tha Hood

Dolls N Tha Hood

The original title of the story of Little Red Riding Hood was “Little Red Hood.” That title doesn’t really play anymore because that would mean that there was a community of red people living in a group somewhere. What we’ve got HERE is a community of WOOD people living in a group somewhere. And that somewhere is your childrens bedroom! Hooray! This set of dolls are “Baika Dolls” designed by Zuzanna Bukala. Bound and determined to win your heart.

Soopa Downhill

Soopa Downhill

How fast would you like to go downhill, head first, on two wheels? Pretty much super fast? I’ve got something for you right here. It’s called the “Soopa Scoota” and it’s designed by a designer by the name of Liron Bobrov. And it’s wild. It’s made specifically for “extreme sport lovers.” I do wonder if that means two people who are very in love with one another who like to make that love physical while rolling down a hill really fast, or if it means people who go to the x-games?

Interactiv' Boxing And No Misspelling Here

Interactiv’ Boxing And No Misspelling Here

I tried boxing once and sucked at it. Yes friends, I hit about as hard as bird poop on a car window. It’s pathetic so before I return to the boxing gym, I need the Interactiv’ Boxing companion. It’s wall mounted and as the name suggests, interactive! Aim for the targets as they light up and choose from 10 training programs. They come with a pair of gloves so fistacuffs is not the name of the game here. Once I’m good and ready, I can return to the boxing gym with my head held high.

Nintendo 3DS With Huge Screens!

Nintendo 3DS With Huge Screens!

Olivier Demangel is basically a 3D artist and his take on Nintendo is really awesome. What’s missing in the real-world version is screen real estate and this concept takes care of that. Over the years many designers have had their take on this game console, but thus far I like this the best. So what do you think…do we need a Nintendo DS redesign or are you happy with what you got? Psst…those who want a peek at what an iPhone gaming console should look like, hit this link.

One Screen, One Nintendo

One Screen, One Nintendo

Welcome to the future of handheld gaming. I mean it. This is one of those futures in gaming that I’m really betting on. This project is sleek, it’s nice, it becomes flat, it’s basically everything I imagine the gaming industry hitting on in a few years. This project is a concept for a future class of Nintendo hand-held gaming, really similar to the current Nintendo DS in many respects. This one’s got a fully interactive 3-D interface. Basically the same amazing stuff you see in the newest Iron Man movie, all jammed in a cute little Nintendo.

A Place for Your Lightsaber

A Place for Your Lightsaber

So you’ve got about 500 gaming controllers, all of them all over the place. Am I right? What do you do with them? Do you wrap them up, push em back into the drawer? Tie them up together, wrap em up, tangle em up? Unwrap those thangs! Get em out here! Let’s see em! Because you know what? They were designed to be used, but they were also designed to be beautiful. I’m of the opinion that if you’re one of them “gamers”, you should let that title hang out there, flappin in the wind. Let’s look at this thing here.

None More Fierce A Bow

None More Fierce A Bow

Hello there archerists. I know that word is wrong. But you wouldn’t be telling me it was wrong if I had a BOW and ARROWS would you? No way! Having a bow and arrows is totally intense. Completely fierce, and not just Beyonce fierce. Like really wolflike and cougarlike. Comin at ya! And you know this bow is wild if we’re featuring it here on Yanko. We only feature the most fierce! This bow is a Recurve Bow, the kind they use in the Olympics. And you know they only let wolves in that.

No iPad Jokes Get The iDrift?

No iPad Jokes Get The iDrift?

While the video here explains exactly how to use an iPad, lemme tell you more about how you can accessorize it. If you’re into car-games, then rest assured you’re going to need add-ons like the iDrift. Unlike the hype of the Wii Mario Kart Wheel, this one is an easy to use peripheral; it has no mechanical or electronic parts whatsoever, making it cheap to manufacture and durable. This submission has got me thinking, how long before the next iPad related concept surfaces…sooner thank you say Jack Robinson!

Melts in Your Brain, Not in Your Hand

Melts in Your Brain, Not in Your Hand

Hi, crimestoppers! It’s that time again, time to recite the video game designer’s oath! Repeat after me! I will devote myself to thinking of amazing ideas, not dismissing them because normal people wouldn’t think they were ever possible or necessary! [Repeat here.] Good! That’s the only rule! Today’s subject is the WiiThink. One WiiVisor later and you’ve got a game controller for the elderly!
