A set of rings, all made of basically what you’d call “regular” paper, each one cut out (by you), rolled or folded, and worn monthly (or daily, depending on how rough you are.) Each flower ring corresponds with a month out of the year. There are two sets: one birthday set, and one “yearly” set. Fancy!

Don’t mistake the “Fisk” for some pair of pimp glasses. These aren’t flashy. They aren’t gonna make eyes explode with envy. They’re gonna fit perfect and they’re gonna last. Whatchu watchu want? The first of two major features is the Global Fit adjustable nose bridge. Soft low porosity silicone over structural nylon adjustable to your strange nose. Then there’s the Ratchet Hinge. The hinge is made of surgical stainless steel and built with a Metal Injection Molding process for unbreakableness. Not to be left on your dashboard.

This is the senior thesis of Industrial Design major Chris Padilla. Chris goes to school at Virginia Tech, and he’s interested in the shoes of little people. Toddlers! The project aims to “promote natural, healthy foot development for toddlers learning how to walk.” The inside is a super minimal inner bootie house-shoe “for safe, “barefoot” walking. The inside is hard as dragon scales.

Clothes don’t fit, I feel hungry all the while and don’t even get me started about my excess weight or I’ll shoot you. You have to humor my hormonal moodswings; I’m pregnant after all! In this condition you can expect me to go ballistic about every single fart that squeeze out or simply go drooling over the Piel shoes. They may not be your average style-statement, but what the heck they are comfy for my feet and the organic pattern stretches across to fit so perfectly. Ahh…soft cushy comfort! Don’t laugh at me or else you’ll find a Piel planted firmly in your bum!

A simple jog in the twilight, walking your pooch at dusk, do these circumstances warrant an accident due poor lighting or visibility? Better safe than sorry…. get visible dear! Here’s a concept closer to advertising than Yanko usually likes to get, but it’s for an extremely important cause: endangered wild animals. Animals that, given the chance, would rip your freaking head off! But they are endangered. So do not kill them, please. Instead, ADDI design group wishes for you to design products for those deadly beasts who need to be saved for extinction.

You new punk rockers and your graffiti skateboards! New wave, you say? No way. This skateboard is a strait up wild-style NYC modernist skateboard design. It’s an art-board, inspired by New York City “Wild Style” graffiti, but it’s also functional. Its unique shape provides lots of gawkers along with new bends, twists, and banks you’ve never broken your neck with before.

Next in a long line of contenders for the so-called “Smart Phone.” Featuring a very limited button selection, camera, color screen, and hiding feature, (and not much else,) here comes the “Cute Phone!” It requires only one more feature to be true to the culture: a hole to hang colorful keychains and blinky beads!

The urban jungle isn’t exactly the safest place for bicyclists. You need the right tools to keep you one step ahead of irresponsible motorists. The Nike Hindsight gives you superhuman like powers with extended peripheral vision so all those sneaky cars, beware.

Irony since I asked our resident industrial designer Shane Crozier to help me redesign a zipper and lookie here, someone’s already done it. Tho I’m not sure how feasible this is, the ButtonFly is interesting nonetheless. Giant interlocking button flaps create a seal similar to that of a zipper. Doesn’t seem as efficient as a zipper but it offers something new in terms of creating uniquely designed garments and accessories.

Hood Air © is an innovative new product that takes on two things close to my heart, messenger bags and strange places to fall asleep. To change functions from bag to travel hood, unzip the two halves of the courier bag and secure with a simple popper, then blow to inflate. Now you got a nice cushion to rest on along with privacy. Hood Air © is made from welded polyurethane plastic and high visibility neoprene plastic.
