Birch-wood Coffee Set

Birch-wood Coffee Set

Andrea Branzi’s silver and birch-wood coffee set was our favourite thing at Design Art London, which took place last month. It isn’t new, but we’ve only just laid our hands on some pictures to show you. Instead of polishing the silver, Branzi dipped it in acid, giving the already thin material an incredibly delicate aesthetic.

A Table With No Top

A Table With No Top

No this table isn’t half-assed. It’s just a paradigm shift in what we normally think a table should look like – some legs supporting a flat surface. Design Diana Halbeisen wanted to experiment with different forms. She thought about what a dinner table is used for, how things are placed, etc.

With A Built In Brush

With A Built In Brush

A small simple detail can make all the difference. This plate has a small brush stowed away in its corner. When crumbs run aloof, just get to sweeping. Easy clean up is always a winner in my book.

Milk Is The New Redbull

Eating Can Be A Tug Of War

Eating Can Be A Tug Of War

Although this table may look nice enough, it’ll actually drive any two people attempting to enjoy a quiet dinner crazy. Why? Each setting (plates, forks, spoons, glasses) is tethered to the opposite. So if one person uses the glass, the other can’t pick up theirs. Talk about coordination!

Magnetic Salt & Pepper Shakers

Magnetic Salt & Pepper Shakers

Magnetic Salt and Pepper Shakers come together in a warm embrace to add a stylish touch to your table setting. Based on the power of attraction, the set conveniently seals at the center thanks to magnets positioned on the shaking surfaces. Each side has holes in different places so as not to mix their contents, and the set can be a napkin weight when not sealed together.
