Shintory - Disappearing Ice Bowl by Daniel Hunziker

Shintory – Disappearing Ice Bowl by Daniel Hunziker

The idea is everlasting, the product is literally volatile. The usage of the product is very simple and straight forward. The only thing you will need is a little bit of patience. Fruits, desserts and salads will be presented as bowls of ice. And this is how it works: put two bowls of different diameter into one another, fill the gap in between the bowls with water, fix with tape and place in the freezer.

Melt Candle Shade by Stephen Reed

Melt Candle Shade by Stephen Reed

Glass shade and ceramic reservoir fit on the rim of a lit candle, following the level of the flame as the candle burns down. Royal VKB Pan Becomes a Strainer by Jan Hoekstra

Royal VKB Pan Becomes a Strainer by Jan Hoekstra

Royal VKB just keeps coming up with simple and ingenious ways of improving kitchenware. Its latest revelation, courtesy of Jan Hoekstra, is a series of pots of pans that have all the practical requirements of cookware: high-grade stainless steel, dishwasher safe, hearty, robust design. However it is the small details that set this series apart. A small lip at the edge of each pot means it’s not only safe and easy to pour but with a twist of the lid the pan becomes a strainer.

Olive Tasting Martini Glass by Eddie Chan

Olive Tasting Martini Glass by Eddie Chan

With the olive placed in the glass (pimento face up) prior to pouring the drink, the martini is kept in the upper half of the glass. When the customer drinks their martini, the drink is able to flow through that same hole while capturing the flavors of the olive (or whatever fruit or vegetable that is wedged in that midsection). While the flowing of the drink to the bottom half of the hour glass is symbolic of the passage of time, the backwards flow when the person drinks from the glass negates the former.

Liquid Skin - Drinking from a Fountain With Bare Hands by Barbara Ambrosz & Karin Stiglmair

Liquid Skin – Drinking from a Fountain With Bare Hands by Barbara Ambrosz & Karin Stiglmair

The concept of Liquid Skin is based on elementary human gestures of drinking from a fountain with bare hands. The glass functions as a thin layer between one’s hands and liquids. It creates awareness and leads the way to new rituals of drinking. There are two possibilities of positioning the cup on the table – upright or top down. Accordingly it can serve as an everyday design product or a scuplture.

Flo - Water Filtration System by Ashley Legg

Flo – Water Filtration System by Ashley Legg

Flo is inspired by a simple observation; water moves in cycles. It flows into our homes, it’s used, and flows out. Water moves the same way in our homes as it does in the natural environment. The filtering process is revealed through an arterial network of tubes. We can trace the water as it rises up and passes through the various filtering stages, finally emerging into our glass.

Then, you replace the cover to turn the container into a condiment pot again. Usage is also easy. You use it just like shake a spoon.
