Fictional Fantasy Is A Globule

Fictional Fantasy Is A Globule

Peugeot Globule is concept vehicle that is made up of four separate spheres that move together in a globule shape. Each sphere accommodates a single passenger and is individually powered by an electric motor. The four spherical parts are connected to a central battery and are contained within a very flexible polymer covering. The car has been designed on a self-assemble basis and can move in different arrangements. Like it can file the four spheres into a single line, to cross a narrow lane.

I Got Steam

I Got Steam

Steam999 is a conceptual exhibition recognizing the by gone era of trains with approbatory glee. Before planes and cars, the locomotive dream was fulfilled by steam trains. They quickly evolved from their industrial workhorse roots to pieces of marvelous mechanical engineering. The exhibition calls for a real working train built in an ecological way servicing an exceptional geographic site. The twin stack machine is elegant and represents the pinnacle of  steam engine train design.

The Airplane Seat

The Airplane Seat

The everlasting enigma. How do you satisfy hundreds and thousands of plane passengers who are very, very unsatisfiable. These people travel back, and forth, and back, and forth! And then there’s the people who ride first class! We won’t worry about them. This seat is for the everyperson. This seat is adjustable and comfortable and it looks truly simple.

BMW Blue Dynamics

BMW Blue Dynamics

Richard Jenkins and his Greenbird currently holds the world land speed record for a wind powered vehicle with a speed of 126.1 mph (202.9 km/h). If BMW were to get serious about the Blue Dynamics Land Yacht, I have no doubts that it would probably smash the record. With the killer combination of BMW’s “efficient dynamics” and “active hybrid” greener emmision programs; it’s hard for Blue Dynamics not to succeed.

Sporty Bike

Sporty Bike

I told you there was this bike conspiracy going on amongst the designers, add the Furious Sports Bike to the list. Dishy in its current avatar; the bike boasts of an aerodynamic design coupled with user-friendly ergonomics. What I really like is the ample display nestled between the handlebars. You get details like the route-map, current bike gear, temperature, time and speed displayed on it. The seat however looks tad uncomfy for me.

 Reinvention Of The Wheel?

Reinvention Of The Wheel?

Perhaps, but who am I to argue with designers. I get this uncanny feeling that there is a deluge of cycle concepts floating around, so if you get bombarded by one too many concepts, please bear with us. And what have we here; an urban cycle that can be toned down to save space when not in use. Why? Urbanites don’t have spacious homes, and those who do…they don’t need bikes, they use shiny cars. The design consists of 2 systems: Wheel folding system & Bike Structure System.

Community Cycles Are For Sharing

Community Cycles Are For Sharing

Samsung Freecycle is a good lesson in community living; a system that teaches sharing is caring…. In this system you got a base unit mounted on a cycle, a device that you carry with you and a generator; all hooked to each other wirelessly. A bike sharing service is implemented and the twist is that users themselves got to manage the effective working of it.

The Amazing Expander Bike!

The Amazing Expander Bike!

It’s called the “Kilobike” and it’s totally magical. You can tell em I told you so. It’s designed to “expand the identity and usage of today’s kids bikes.” Made for Seed, designers at Kilo Design made this a bike to remember. If you’re from a bike family, even if you were the only one in your family to own a bike, you remember having to upgrade to a big-kid bike. It was a sad day, but no more!

Ten Exciting Boats and Yachts Concepts

Ten Exciting Boats and Yachts Concepts

My fascination with houseboats and yachts started way back in the 80’s, when it was safe for people to travel to Kashmir. We spent a week-long vacation in this charming houseboat on Dal Lake. Boats here were typically rustic with intricate woodwork and aristocratic charisma. Cut to the present times, old-world charm no longer exists and mean-machines with high-tech booty are in. Moving ahead with times is a good thing if it means adding luxury and efficiency to the deal. Let’s look at the Ten Most Exciting Boats and Yachts Concepts seen on YD.

Biggest Hugest Tricycle

Biggest Hugest Tricycle

The biggest hugest tricycle in the whole world has been conceptualized by designer Randall Marin. It is a bit different from what you might think of as a tricycle; that being either the tiny red tricycle for children or the giant tri-motorcycle you see in parades most often. This is made for urban transport and exercise – with it’s main aim being gaining attention, motivating others to get exercise too.

My Car, It's Alive!

My Car, It’s “Alive!”

As we move forward in our increasingly mass produced and technological world, there is a certain nostalgia for what many critics say we’ve lost. We just need to find new ways to personalize and humanize the products we create. The Equilibrium (EQ) car uses artificial intelligence to engage us by generating the illusion of life and individual personality. Tho the cars are mass produced, no two are alike.

Firefighter's Best Friend

Firefighter’s Best Friend

Last year we had some of the most terrible forest fires and the number is rising. The aftermath is undeniable. The quicker you contain them, the more likely you’ll win the battle. The Autonomous Fire Guard concept explores robotic applications to overcome the shortcomings of real people. The bot is equipped with laser scanners, IR cameras and radar to cut thru the smoke. They’re meant to operate in the last phase of a fire fight called mop ups. It’s unsafe for humans to tread the scorched earth, not knowing if the brush underneath is still kindling.

Robot Overlords Disguised As Peace Robots

Robot Overlords Disguised As Peace Robots

We may not be able to end all wars but if this quattro is right, we can at least stop people from participating. Por que? Peace Robots serve the United Nations as an ad-hoc intervention squad. They’re subject to UN principles; neutrality and non-partisanship. “Non-lethal” systems enable them to defuse hot stops and potentially save civilian lives. Know what else? Peace Robots are not remote controlled. They’re self-governed and operate in swarms. O’rly? Please discuss.
