Cuts Like A Knife

Cuts Like A Knife

Simply love this WMF Kitchen Knife Concept for its geometric aesthetics and the fact that it is crafted from a single piece of metal. Essentially, the knife is characterized by blended volume and how the gradient gently mergers the layers. The design screams high-end luxury and me likes that!

Refrigerating In Compartments

Refrigerating In Compartments

The Iceberg is a smart fridge that nests a portable Freshbag to take along on the road. The centrally located round box is ideal for picnics and a day in the sun. For your regular needs, it’s the kind of fridge that is compact yet big enough to hold wines and food. Love the ingenious portability and compartmentalization. What do you think?

 Iron With Sting

Iron With Sting

The Iron Men is a design inspired by the stingray and a stealth jet fighter; it is a simple and fashionable iron for men. The sweet deal is that the central part of the iron is transparent and it allows you to see where you’re ironing. It makes sure you don’t damage any part of your outfit. Awesome!

Straighten The Curls And The Crinkle

Straighten The Curls And The Crinkle

Simple Crinkle is a very clever design; when flattened it is an iron that can be used on clothes and when bent, it is a hair straightener. I love it for its very practice approach and usability factor. When I am travelling I tend to pack in both, my hair iron and a clothes’ iron. So, if the tech guys can figure out a heating system that is both safe on hair and clothes, then this design is a complete winner! What do you think?

Getting It Clean Alright

Getting It Clean Alright

The Rolling Static-cleaner is silent cordless cleaner with a ball tip that traps fur and dust. It basically uses electromagnetic force to attract the dust particles and fur that is shed by your pets. We all know the merits of a clean home: lesser allergies and sickness; thus the use of a technology that ensures this, is very relevant. I love the wand design of the machine. Kinda makes it futuristic.

Behold The Cactus

Behold The Cactus

The Cactus is a hybrid kinda appliance, one that moves from a freezer to a refrigerator to a food warmer. Consider it as a food storage box that keeps your eatables either warm or cold, depending upon the requirement. Designed for use in nuclear households, the appliance goes against the typical principle of conducting heat from the outside to cool the inners of a fridge.

Straight From Chopping Board To The Fire

Straight From Chopping Board To The Fire

The Curling Pan is one heck of an innovation! Just imagine popping the cutting board onto the fire and get cooking right away! This means that the board is the pan. Crafted from shape-memory alloy, it transforms from a flat cutting board to a frying pan when it comes in contact with heat. The edges start to curl up after a certain temperature. This is because of the nature of the material with which it is made from: shape-memory alloy with a two-way memory effect.

Double The Warmth

Double The Warmth

Inspired by the Asian idea that the earth was square and heaven was round, the Double Warm Multi-functional and Energy-efficient Coal Stove was conceptualized. It is designed to have a water-storage volume surrounding the furnace so that you can boil water while you use the stove for cooking. This hot water can be used for bathing etc. Nice idea, especially since it is aimed for the energy-starved counties where resources are expensive and scarce.

The Qua Effect

The Qua Effect

Qua is a nightlight for children that exude a soothing effect thanks to its textured glass and looks. It even doubles up as a natural humidifier because of the water that you need to load in for the effect. The surreal effect of the rippled glass and water mimics the feeling of being comfortable in the womb, thus encouraging a peaceful night’s sleep. Sweet!

Future Of Washing

Future Of Washing

A trip down the aisle of washing machines in an appliance store tells you that not much innovation has come about in the design language of these machines. Innova hopes to rectify this with its futuristic design language and innovative techniques. This washer-dryer concept uses only steam for cleaning, and consumes much less water compared to the current crop. Thanks to its ergonomic design, the drum of the machine is perched at an angle and gives a better view inside.
