Just Like Mom’s Cooking

Just Like Mom’s Cooking

The Motherspoon concept allows families to connect together and share family recipes even though distances may keep them apart. The concept of storing and sharing recipes has changed over the years and this appliance integrates the internet, a dedicated exchange platform and sensors to get it working.

The Magic of Flambé

The Magic of Flambé

Inspired the 1815 creation, the Davy lamp, Fiery sets a new standard in restaurant styled cooking at home. Encouraging one to discover new tastes and flavors, Fiery actually allows you to flambé food without the worry of the fire. The appliance uses a wire mesh to isolate flame, making it easy to use and impress family and friends. Simply pour the liquor in a pan or a plate, press the button to ignite the fire, and then remove it when the flame turns off. Exciting!

Twist and Clean

Twist and Clean

The Hula Washer promises to keep you fit and svelte as you wash your clothes. Not only do you save time and money, but the concept also keeps your waistline under control. The energy you use to spin the Hula Washer, like a Hula Hoop is used to clean the clothes loaded into the washer segment. Add clothes and washing liquid to the hollow centre of the ring and then start to spin. The only thing problem I see it that it looks convenient for small clothes like socks and hankies, nothing more.

Perfectly Tipsy

Perfectly Tipsy

The Hurricane is a fun way to blend and mix your cocktails. Unless you are Bond who likes his Martini shaken not stirred, you can expect this appliance to blend you a mean mojito or a spectacular rum punch. All you need to do is choose your poison and then add in the ingredients as directed. A step-by-step guide is displayed on the screen and it sets the ball rolling for you. Concoct classics like Tom Collins or something new and exotic; just don’t get too carried away with the drinks…that’s all!

Better Than Roomba?

Better Than Roomba?

In a way yes, because this robotic vacuum cleaner uses eco-sense for operations! The Giving Tree is as robotic as the next iProduct and it cleans your space with TLC. The eco angle is included via the power system. It has been designed to conserve electricity and in a way harness some juice while it’s working. Before the engineers start their tirade, let me tell you that the idea is worth exploring.

Chef-approved Cooking

Chef-approved Cooking

Although they may have the accurate recipe in hand, professional chefs know that the perfect stew or soup is always seasoned using approximations. It’s got to do with gut instincts I suppose, and unfortunately not all of us are blessed with that. So if you are looking for professional chef quality food at home, then you need the help of Ingressure.

The Two-in-One Team

The Two-in-One Team

Love this simple and functional induction cooker called Two any One. Basically it’s an indoor induction cook top with cooking plates that detach and fold up for portability. They rely on an in built-charging mechanism; hence you don’t power out or need cords when using it outdoors. How cool is that!

A Life With The Stove

A Life With The Stove

The Stove is an emergency stove that was inspired by the Great East Japan Earthquake. It basically is a design that allows you to use it for cooking and charging batteries. As the designer explains, “the wood or wooden pellets for the stove are environmentally friendly type of fuel that is easy to handle.” Although intended for earthquake prone Japan, the stove can find value in many other regions as well.

Shells, Whites and Yolk

Shells, Whites and Yolk

It seems to be a magical appliance that separates the egg whites from the yolk in one swift twist and I am all for it! Egg Separator is a device where you place the whole egg, yes with the shell intact, into the central compartment. With a sharp twist and turn, you get the shells in one place, the whites in a separate compartment and the yolk in another. Sounds perfect, and something very handy for the MasterChef kitchen!

Cup Burns

Cup Burns

Burning Cup offers a solution to reheating or microwaving your tepid coffee (or beverage) and losing its flavor. The cup prevents the drink from cooling down due to heat release to the outside. It uses sodium acetate to get the heat going. This what the designer says, “The sodium acetate contained in the inside of the cup design can regulate the heat of beverage. The liquid solution breaks the balance of liquid state with a tiny impact and hardens it solid, and it then generates heat momentarily.”

An Intuitive Kettle

An Intuitive Kettle

The Celsius Kettle features a very intuitive design that looks at improving the efficiency in use and the over-all user experience in design. Employing both red and blue lights as temperature indicators, the controls linked to lighting systems inform the user about the stage of the heating process. The grip of the kettle has been designed to keep aesthetics and ergonomics in tact.

Ultimate In Ironing

Ultimate In Ironing

The Dyson Calor’shocks revisits ironing clothes by using heat and ultrasound to ease out the wrinkles. Ironing is basically a chore no one likes to do and unless you’re the crisp-white-shirt types, we try and cut corners just to get it over and done with. This new concept of ultrasound mat and iron, hopes to make the job easy by kinda self-doing the ironing with little pressure. I’m eager to see this develop into something concrete, because I sue can do without laundry chores!

Desktop Warmth

Desktop Warmth

My Luncbox is a very nifty appliance to have in your office. It takes away the bother of queuing up in front of the office microwave at lunchtime. A USB enabled base hooks up to your laptop for power sourcing and heats up the warming element in a jiffy. Simply place your lunchbox on top of the warmer, set your time and temperature, and it’s all set. It will even pop a message on your laptop to let you know that lunch is warm and ready to be served. Awesome!
