BFF Watches for Overseas Lovers

BFF Watches for Overseas Lovers

You know the sacred bond that is made when two people hold separate parts of a heart. They are Best Friends Forever. Or married. Whichever it happens to be, here’s a watch for them. This is “Dual Time,” a unisex GMT wristwatch with a unique feature: complimentary hour hands. Where normally three hands would mean hour, minute, and second, here they mean second, your hour, and your friend’s hour.

The Fascinating Legacy of the 2010 TUDOR Heritage Chrono Watch

The Fascinating Legacy of the 2010 TUDOR Heritage Chrono Watch

If it’s not the celestial bodies, man has depended on earthly resources (sand-clock) to keep an account of the precious moments that tick away. With age and technology, refinements to the system gave us pocket watches, grandfather clocks and even the humble wristwatch. Subtle significance in fictions like Paths of Glory, where a watch played the crucial evidence that rocked Edmund Hillary’s claim to Everest, or real-time standstills found at ground zero, a watch is a Precious Heritage that we all identify with. The 2010 TUDOR Heritage Chrono Watch is one significant addition that you’d like to inherit.

New Nooka Zub Zayu

New Nooka Zub Zayu

Ooh look! Nooka just added a new watch to their lineup. The Zayu is the latest in the Zub series. I’m particularly keen on the curved back because nobody’s wrist is flat. It’s also the first watch to have a “sleepmode” to conserve battery. The asymmetric design may look odd but you can flip the display to accommodate lefties and righties. That little notch sits perfectly above your sleeve – BRILLS! Five colors to choose from, see them after the jump. Pre-order now for $175. I know I am.

TAG-Heuer Formula-1 Watch

TAG-Heuer Formula-1 Watch

As we know TAG-Heuer is celebrating 150 years of being in the business and The Carrera Calibre 1887 Chronograph is already on our wishlist. So it comes as a great pleasure when designers decide to commemorate the event with their own refreshing take. Inspired by the TAG-Heuer Grand Carrera Calibre 36 RS Caliper Chronograph model, designer Peter Vardai chose to model his version on Formula-1 and Mercedes-Benz combo. Awesome!

Bright Lights and TRON Time

Bright Lights and TRON Time

How do you read time… if you’re INSIDE a computer?! This is a question we’ll all have to ask when we’re at that new TRON movie whenever it decides it’s ready to come out. I’m anticipating the pants off it, and so is designer Scott Galloway, who today presents to the world this TRON-inspired watch called the “Seven-R-Zero-N” aka 7R0N. This watch is rare in that it lends attention to not only the face, but to the strap as well.

Watch to Time, Turbines to Speed!

Watch to Time, Turbines to Speed!

Behold, the ancient power of windmills! It’s no mistake that windmills have been so prevalent in horror movies over the course of our recent past – the very thought of such a majestic beast being blown to bits gives me the shivers! Projects design group reminds us that windmills are amongst humankind’s oldest energy sources, turning water and wind into pure power! Thusly, they’ve made an object to remind us of that excellent trade here, in the Turbino watch.

Stop Time

Stop Time

At your command now, here, is time itself! Or rather, the outward appearance of time as it sits on your wrist. Designer José Hurtado presents a watch that sits on your wrist and has arms and a ticker like any other wristwatch, but it only shows you the time when you want it. All you’ve got to do is click it! I know many of you, including me, suffers from time deprivation. No more of that! Only if you want it. Here is the Hide Watch!

Perfect Balance in Time

Perfect Balance in Time

When you’re looking at your watch on your wrist, you want to know what time it is. But more than that, you want your whole life to be in order in that one moment. You want all the yin and all the yang to be perfectly spun. That’s why it’s imperative that you see that the first moment you peek at the machine on the strap on the piece of your body below your hand. This is the “Yin Yang” watch designed by the fabulous Daniel Will – Harris, known for his crazy, amazing, and fantastic watch collection, several of which are jumping off the shelves of our Yanko Store. Slap one directly unto your wrist.

Crystal Wrist

Crystal Wrist

Let me continue our legacy here on Yanko of presenting completely amazing, strange, and weird, with this “Retro-Futurism” timepiece from designer Carson Leong. It’s a digital timepiece that “celebrates the magical properties of fused fibre optics.” I couldn’t have said it more wonderful myself. The watch has its top glass (Sapphire crystal) replaced by fused fibre optic with 12 facets, each of the 12 representing one hour of the day. When turned off, the watch becomes a unique fashion accessory with a black gem (the optic) at the helm.

One Watch With Many Faces

One Watch With Many Faces

Here is a neat idea that allows you to play with the different faces for a watch. The Watch oNe basically features an E-Ink display which is LED back lit, but its face is not constant, meaning you can change it at whim or fancy. Hook the watch up to the internet and download your kinda face to it. Designers have a choice to upload their creativity to the on-line store, for others to purchase. So the possibilities with this one watch are endless… mechanical, digital, classic, futuristic, complex…any type of face can be downloaded (via micro USB port) for use.

Seconds Moving Hours

Seconds Moving Hours

On our never-ending travels from the birth to the grave, there’s lots of minutes, hours, waiting for years to pass, all the loveliness and ickiness of the world traveling about us. But then there’s the seconds. The tiny ants carrying the picnic of our lives unto the future. Daniel Will-Harris knows this, and seeks to show us every day time moving forward being pushed by seconds. The numbers move, the moment stays the same. This is the “Rush Hour” watch, a highly modern sort of watch.

A Random Time

A Random Time

A watch that you place upon your wrist for the purpose of telling the time, but not for time’s sake, for the sake of keeping wonder and playfulness alive. This watch is called “Time Lines” and its apparent improper and random placement of lines in the design create “a dialogue with the clock face,” keeping for itself a unique identity while it tells you when it’s time to go check Yanko for updates.
