Yes they’re for real. How do I know? I’ve seen them in person. Jump From Paper bags just released several new products and STILL I have a hard time believe they exist. I mean that in the tangible sense because every photo looks like a doctored up shot. That’s part of the charm. It’s like your touching a cartoon every time you reach for your bag. Totally had one of those “are you kidding me?” moments when I saw this! The redesigned Solid Gray backpack is a more rigid version of it’s slack counterparts. Designer Casey Ng may have been inspired to create the BoxBag specifically as a quick and easy way of transporting and serving the Kiwi native’s famous New Zealand fish and chips, but I see many more practical applications for this clever design. An intuitive perforated strip around the bottom, rigid half of the bag can be removed in seconds, separating the top half and leaving a good-size container for serving the contents. Perfect for lunches, picnics or carrying anything else where easy access is beneficial.

Home Traveller is the result of an exploration into the relationship between two items rarely fused together: clothing and furniture. Inspired by handbags and storage chests, designer Anne Lorenz experimented with the form and function of both to create this unique one-off combination carryall. More of a home accessory than an everyday bag, it’s a playful and intuitive piece perfect for storing laundry, blankets, and many other household items.

The following is one of several designs entered into this year’s INDEX: Challenge, Design for Education – this design being amongst the finalists for the contest. This challenge is a yearly contest in which entrants are asked to propose solutions to improve education in developing countries’ schools. What designers François Verez & Ane Eguiguren prepose here is what they call a “Teddy Bag,” a school bag that doubles as a desk. It’s made entirely out of cardboard light enough to be easy for a little kid to carry, yet hearty enough to stay strong and carry that kid’s school supplies safely.
