Hybrid Alarm Clock by Francesco Costacurta

Hybrid Alarm Clock by Francesco Costacurta

This alarm is a mix between a minute counter used in cooking and a normal alarm. There are two ways of use: like a normal alarm, selecting the hour of waking up or selecting the time of sleeping, 3-5-8 hours. To stop the alarm there is a big red button on the top. It is, at the same time, a pulsing light that can substitute the alarm sound to avoid to wake up other people.

A Silent Alarm Clock

A Silent Alarm Clock

Alarm clocks usually jolt us awake leading us to reach for the almighty snooze button. Silence is a conceptual alarm clock that allows you to program multiple alarms and wakes you without any sound. Each person wears a wireless rubber ring with an integrated vibration device that generates a tactile alarm. The snooze function is engaged by shaking your hand. However, each successive time you want to snooze, more movement is required, making sure you get to work on time.

One thing that sometimes wakes you up at night and prevents you from sleeping is the mosquito or blowfly when flying around your room. You can’t and don’t want to fall asleep again until you’ve caught it. These produces adrenalin and requires movements.

My Alarm Clock is Not a Movie or Maybe

My Alarm Clock is Not a Movie or Maybe

Described by its designers as an attempt to change our perception of time with a good dose of minimalism, the Minutuner is as simple as an alarm clock can get. Obviously influenced by a perception of time as a linear flow, it brings to mind the progress bars below our everpresent online video players, contextualizing our lives as finite things to be lived well and with no regrets. While not immediately available, it’s looking for partners in production, so keep your fingers crossed.

The pictures show how it would be displayed in the shops. The casing is manufactured from recycled cardboard boxes and then treated.
