I’m very possessive about the books I own and very rarely lend them. I’d much rather display them on a bookshelf them hide them in cupboards. The Slim Book Case fits in perfect to any home or office environment and suits those who love exhibiting their collection. Sounds perfect for me! Designed by 2-B-2 Architecture to be a reflection of the Biblical story of Noah and the Ark. To describe it, 2-B-2 chooses a refuge on the top of Mount Ararat in Turkey. This refuge consists of two levels. First is the entrance and parking for over 1000 cars. This area spills over unto the human areas, allowing avoidance of cheerless urban landscape and prevents the strong heating of the vehicles.

Take a whimsical look at this fantasy land designed by the rather fashionable Eunsuk Hur. In this “Nomadic Wonderland” you’ll find a series of interchangeable, interlockable, interspectacular pieces of material that come together to spell nothing less than glamorously wonderful.

However what makes the db0 (divided by nothing) E bike different from the rest of the gang is that it’s soon to be available this first quarter. I know you did. You always wanted to be able to have your router (for wood, not for internets) work robotically. You wanted to just be able to stick some numbers in there and bam! What a wicked sign you’ve got. Well check this out! Designer Nick Santillan had that uncontrollable urge, that need, that want! To make things better. To show improve! So what’d he do? He learned all about CNC machines, found some directions for a DIY, and DIHimself with modifications. Lovely, fabulous improvements.

Here’s something neat: a concept from Quentin de Coster called “Newswasher.” Can you guess what it does from the preview picture? I can’t!

Hybrid cycles have been around but they rarely take into consideration the elements. This makes their usage restrictive to fair weather. Slotting itself into the “commuter vehicle” bracket, the Emcycle tries to overcome this limitation by including a roof and Velcro-detachable side panels. Basically you can cocoon yourself and pedal or take electrical assiatnce to get you to your destination. There are three drive options ranging from AM (I have energy) through to PM (I’m tired!).

It is with a hard heart that I write this post today. It has come to our attention that a design, The Pocket Light by Hyun Jin Yoon & Eun Hak Lee (Ryan Harc), was stolen, produced and sold unlicensed under another brand. The team at Yanko Design does not condone such activities and urge all readers to boycott any pocket light they may encounter. If you recollect, this light-design had gone viral on the net and had garnered much attention from the online community in 2008.

James Owen is well known around these parts for his stunning cat scratching post so when I found out he designed something as utilitarian as a trunk mounted bike rack for Yakima, my cat ears perked up. I’m not an avid bicycler but as the owner of a smaller car, a removable portable rack is perfect to getting me to and from trails around Los Angeles.
