So I hear you all, all of us, love to eat breakfast. Or wish. Wish we could eat breakfast every day. Check it out. Here’s ten amazing industrial design concepts based on that old timey morning ritual. Most of them are basically made for people who’ve got time to eat breakfast, but yes, there are fantabulous designs for those of you who’ve got no time at all! Designers!

1. Wake Up Food Alarm by De Dietrich Juice and coffee or chocolate and toast on alarm, when you wake. Every single day!

2. Buon Appetito by Olga Bielawska & Astrid Schildkopf It’s a bib. It’s a blanket. It’s made for breakfast. Breakfast in bed. And it’s red and white! Red and white like the face of someone covered in red and white paint eating breakfast in bed.

3. Toasting Charger by Hyun-A Ko if you’ve got a battery you need toastin. Or charged. Charged like a battery toast. Don’t eat the battery though, that would be just terrible.

4. 0.2mm by Ivo Vos is made for those who need perfect, perfect breakfast placement. Perfect. Breakfast placement. With grids. For all you geometrists out there, also lovers of pattern and the color blue.

5. Never Miss Breakfast with Bikefast by Philipp Drexler This one’s for you, “green” designers. Get to work on the bike. The bike has a tray on it for your toast and a holder for your cup of coffee which you’re gonna probably spill on your crotch. Woops!

6. Perfect Cereal Bowl by Sherwood Forlee This is only half of the bowl. This is a cross-section. It’s a bowl with a cork in it that lets the milk (or whatever you put on your breakfast cereal) drain down into a lower bowl. This is for those of you who use your milk twice.

7. Fresh Traveler by Arjan Brekveld This is one of those metal containers that keeps your liquids cold, and it’s got a little plastic detachable container on the bottom where you can put your cereal.

8. Message Toaster by Sasha Tseng does what you think it does, which is, of course, write a message on a piece of toast by toasting it in. The toast is a message for whoever works up second.

9. Sustainable Toaster by Rob Penny is made of simple pieces that can be easily replaced, is 20% faster than the average toaster, and only gets hot on one side if only one piece of bread is in the toaster. Oh did I mention that it makes getting the toast out of the toaster totally intuitive? Check it out. Look at the pic.

10. Tea Bag Coffin by Jonas Trampedach Is the best experience you’ll ever have with the teabag. The teabag is useless after you use it, so after you use the teabag, kill it. Place the teabag under the cup. The teabag is out of mind. Drink that tea! Get pumped up!

By our friend and returning Yanko champion, Sherwood Forlee. Check out the simplicity. Just punch out the corner, make a cut or two, fold back, and POW! You are green. You are sooo green. And Sherwood told us to make sure to mention that the money you save on staples is money you should spend on something totally nice for yourself. So, you know what to do!

Get out there and kick-start the economy!

You’re a sink-eater? Come on. That’s just nasty. Sometimes things are designed for the people who just love to eat their hunks over the wash-bowl. This is a plate for your dinner-table or TV-dinner that -by the looks of it- is a sink, drain and all.

But wait- if they can’t take the time to get a plate out, why would they take the time to buy a sink-plate?

Sherwood Lee is a disgusting, horrible person, and a designer:

One of the best practices in the world is eating over the sink. It’s comfortable. It’s casual. It’s quick. And most importantly, there are no dishes to wash up afterwards. But then there are some who oppose this method of eating, namely, those with so-called “manners”. Oftentimes, those people are our significant others. So, what to do if you’re fond of dining over the sink, but have to do it in secret for fear of being reprimanded for trying to enjoy your meal?

For the pro Eating-Over-The-Sink camp, there’s nothing quite like eating over the sink, but there’s a close second with the Sink Plate. It’s a plate that resembles the bottom of a sink, so you can escape the nagging without losing sight of your most beloved dining venue. For the anti Eating-Over-The-Sink crowd, the Sink Plate is a better way of weening your loved one away from the sink than loud words and furrowed brows.

Available in ceramic or steel sink styles with sink strainer decal.

JK! Mr. Lee is not a disgusting designer. In fact, Mr. Lee is a return-champion, with several posts up on Yanko with several thousand hits! Check him out with a [Yanko Search]!

This project is gross, though.

London-based architects Make created the winning design for the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre (yes, that Sherwood Forest ). Their solution makes this little installation in Madison Square Park look really weak. In fact, Make Architecture’s take seems to owe more to Tadashi Kawamata’s early work than anything in contemporary architecture. While obviously pumping up the drama in order to draw upon a child’s greatest treehouse fantasy, this is decidedly grown up architecture too. It redefines contextually-sensitive architecture, sustainable architecture, and destination architecture all at once.

Oh and if this ever gets built, you’ll see my climbing that thing for hours.

Like the designer, I’m sure, I’ve broken my share of wine glasses, and I don’t even really like wine! I usually put whiskey and coke in there, then I don’t find the whole glass until spring cleaning. For the wine enthusiast (or drunk) with short shelves or clumsy tendencies, it’s untrained designer Sherwood Forlee to the rescue!

The designer, Sherwood Forlee, puts it like this: “glasses that are separable from their stems for more compact storage, and a metal stem for enhanced strength. A rubber gasket safely and snugly links the glass that fits your drink choice with the stem. Stems are available in a variety of colors and finishes.”

Simple and beautiful. I’d like a set with red/yellow/green color combo stems made of steel. Extra heavy metal would be extra awesome.

Also be sure to check out Forlee’s webpage: he’s a real dude with a barely completed mathematics schooling who “calls himself a designer because it sounds hip and no one likes hanging around a nerd at a party.”

My kind of fellow.

No one likes mushy cornflakes for breakfast. With this bowl, simply allow your milk to soak your cereal for the requisite time and then pull the plug and drain. There you go… perfectly moistened yet crispy cereal. Of course I’m one who likes to get a spoonful of milk along with my cereal but everybody has their own way. What’s yours?

Designer Sherwood Forlee (love the name) has a sense a humor for stating the obvious. A speaker is a device that converts electrical energy into sound waves. It’s also someone who expresses in language. So if you combine those two definitions together to form some sort of iconic gesture to retain both aspects, you get the Speak-er. As Sherwood puts it, putting the “speak” in speakers.
