Skipper Don’t Forget The Rewave

Skipper Don’t Forget The Rewave

Rewave is essentially a design using Reverse Osmosis for desalinating the sea water. More for private consumption in coastal regions where fresh water is scarce or at-sea disaster situations, the Rewave is quite self-sufficient. It floats in water and harnesses the energy from the waves to power itself. Since a great amount of pressure is required for RO, the aperture has been placed at the bottom of body, allowing the seawater to get through to the motor area. After desalinating, the fresh water accumulates at the top and comes out via a pipe.

Every Skyscraper Capped with Grass

Every Skyscraper Capped with Grass

Design group Kalomix, from Hong Kong, have come up with a rather green concept, if you will. It’s grass. It’s so green, it’s got it in the name: “Green Puzzle.” The Green Puzzle is currently being displayed at Ecopelago in Hong Kong (stop by if you’re into that sort of thing.) And it’s just a feel-good between-the-toes kind of concept. Solar panels that are made to appear and feel like grass, in the shape of grass, to be planted on the ground in the dirt surrounded by grass. It’s camouflage solar energy!

Single Pen Dispenses All Colors

Single Pen Dispenses All Colors

A must-have on any designer’s desk is his marker pen; the more, the merrier! Getting high-tech about the colors and tools is this Braun Markerfool Marker Pen. It’s been designed especially to provide a variety of colors from just a single pen. Kinda like a miniature inkjet printer, that has a touch screen so that you can mix in the CMYK colors and use them. Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black! Altho not elaborated, it claims to be an eco-friendly concept, I assume it’s coz you’ll need a lot less pens. Just this one!

Don’t Panic Just Yet

Don’t Panic Just Yet

Given the current terror scenario across the world, it’s only natural instincts to get panicky if the lights blank out while traveling by the underground train. It could be a normal technical snag, but we fear the worst, and rightly so. Coaches are generally equipped with emergency lights, but something like the Emergency Handle Light can give the commuters a lot more confidence to deal with the situation. It’s the overhead handle re-designed to fit in a flashlight at the end.

Love Affair With London And Lego

Love Affair With London And Lego

Clearly the Volkswagen Conerto Concept Car is inspired by London’s rustic charm and the sustainability of Lego. While I won’t get into the personal journey of London retro-modern muse, I’ll explain to you how Lego is involved in the scenario. Take a piece of Lego block from any era, and you will see that it fits the current version like a glove. Using this idea as a base, the construction of the Conerto is such that it allows you to fit pieces of the car in a similar fashion.

Rock-A-By-Doggie

Rock-A-By-Doggie

I am totally floored by Ilya Fridman’s design for a Dog Hammock. First of all as a dog-lover, I simply adore the idea of getting a pet pooch his own hammock, and to top it off the dog-bed helps in subtly collecting stray dog fur by harnessing the attraction power of static electricity. What a blessing! Ilya also win’s my vote for using recycled materials in the construction of Jamboree.

The Arc Of The Project, A Real World Tale

The Arc Of The Project, A Real World Tale

Entrepreneurs/inventors go through many stages of enterprise and end to end can mean from product conception through to some resolution. The normal resolutions are sale of the technology, startup of an operating company with its sale to another firm, operating the company to build a brand or abandonment of the project due to market or financial forces. In general, end-to-end means concept through market insertion.
