Verbarius – Clock that Writes Time by Art Lebedev Studio

Optimus keyboard creator Art Lebedev Studio today provided an early look at the Verbarius. A natural-language clock, the Verbarius tries to liven timekeeping by expressing the time the way many people do in conversations, randomly choosing between descriptions such as “forty-five minutes past four” Or “fifteen minutes to five” It can also read the time in four other language, Russian, French, German and Spanish.

Laser Precise Time

Laser Precise Time

The Reflectius Clock by Art Lebedev Studio has a whopping sixty rotating mirrors that successively reflect a single laser beam at precise angles to draw numbers. Complex triangular facets guild the beam to form the current time and showcase the efficiency and preciseness of a laser beam! Totally fascinating…don’t forget to check out the demo.

A Perfume For A Man's Man

A Perfume For A Man’s Man

Hey now who doesn’t love a good smelling man? Even the brawniest, burliest men a.k.a construction workers deserve a little eau de toilette. Art Lebedev makes it a point to create a scent worthy of a man with notes of bergamot, rosemary, birch, cedar, iris, and cardamon called the Spirit Level. But even the toughest men wouldn’t be caught dead with a frou frou bottle so this one comes packaged and functions as a level.

Don’t Iron Bras At Work

Don’t Iron Bras At Work

We are on a Lebedev overdrive today and rightly so. Their concepts are seemingly perfect for today’s fun day! What we have in this batch is a coffee mug re-design that puts the “energy of hot coffee to practical use.” In simple terms, the heat from your piping hot coffee-filled mug “Ironius” can be used to iron out a few creases of your shirt. Perfectly handy for those naughty ones who indulge in office romances. *Nina in her silky black bra are not included in the package!

Arty’s Watch is Captivating

Arty’s Watch is Captivating

For once familiarity doesn’t breed contempt! I’m talking about very familiar Art Lebedev Studio and their amazing concepts seen here on Yanko Design! This time around we have for you the Integralus Digital Watch. It features a double body closure and two display segments (one for hour and one for minutes) that snap together for a secure lock. The body is made of milled aluminium and the elastic bands come in three sizes. Overall I think this is one cool watch.

Our favorite design studio Art lebedev is back with an update to their Optimus range of keyboards. This time around we have the Optimus Populyaris & Optimus Mini Six. While the Populyaris is a compact keyboard that configures with very many options (like English, Russian, Photoshop etc.), the mini six is an auxiliary device with six customizable keys that can be assigned any function, including displaying information related or non-related to the current program in use. Mini Six is perfect as a Tools panel, remote control, or an indicator with static or animated graphics!

Sexy Sektorus

Sexy Sektorus

For no apparent reason Sektorus goes very well with ‘sexy’, so let’s just stick to that. This beautiful quartz watch designed by the good folks at Art Lebedev Studio. It features the body merging with the band. Two wedged displays showcase the hours and minutes/seconds separately; the date appears in a small window. The band is crafted from a flexible silicone material and fits your hand snugly. The body is all aluminum and super sexy!

Paper Clip with Several More Spins in It

Paper Clip with Several More Spins in It

What! Everyone knows there’s only a couple turns in a paper clip. And that paper clips are not fun. No fun with paper clips allowed! What Art Lebedev Studio has done is totally add metal to this legendary invention, curve it up a bit more than usual, and slap an excellent name on it. “Super Paper Clip!” it was named, later changed to the more Russian “Skrepkus.”

Lucky Russian Trolly Ticket Cookies

Lucky Russian Trolly Ticket Cookies

Mouthful! Believe it! These cookies were designed by returning Yanko champions at Art Lebedev Studio for the Russian Ministry of Transport. In Russia where bus, train, and trolley tickets run rampant, superstition also flows freely. The Russian ticket trick is the following: when the first three digits added up equal the last three digits, the holder should eat the ticket for good luck! Design has made this luck devouring much less ink-intensive. Yummy lucky cookies!

Water Heaters Get a Makeover

Water Heaters Get a Makeover

I had to shop for a new water heater this past weekend because mine decided to go on strike right when I wanted to take a shower. I walked away from the store with tons of new information about water heaters but ultimately concluded they are all seriously fugly. Yes FUGLY! Leave it to Art Lebedev (say it with a Russian accent please) to come up with one that looks sexy and makes water heaters a whole lot easier to operate with electronic controls.
