Interactive Illumination

adaptiveluminaire_01

Throw out your boring overhead office lighting for interactive illumination! The Adaptive Luminaire merges industrial lighting with gestural control for a more versatile solution for work spaces. The design utilizes a down-facing camera that recognizes user hand movements to control the overall brightness, balance, four individual spots, and the color of the upward facing ambient light diffusor. With one or a few movements you can tailor your lighting style to suit any mood or work purpose!

The Luminaire consists of an extruded aluminium profile covered by ABS apertures forming six facets. The four down facing Diffusors contribute an even illumination in a 30° angle while the up facing black aluminium facets build up a heat sink. Extruded microscopic grooves increasing the surface of the heat sink while maintaining a smooth easy to clean surface. The SMD stripes consist of an Aluminium core board which is thermally compound to the profile. While the spot SMDs got round collimator lenses, the diffusor are using extruded oblong collimators in order to reduce production costs. Above the collimators are flush mounted Fresnel lenses scattering the collimated light to provide even, glare-free lightning.
