Stand-up Toilet
Going weak knees outta love and romance is a good thing, but when age (or aching gym-tired muscles) catches up, even simple tasks like sitting on the toilet seat become a pain. The Stand-helping Closestool Toilet Seat features a seat with a hydraulic-powered lever function, which helps you to stand up with ease. I’d be more comfortable if the design included a hand rail to stabilize the standing-up process. Tippling over will be such a shame!
Stand-helping Closestool is a 2011 red dot design concept winner.

It might be me personally, but when I go to the toilet I generally urinate at the same time as I defecate. With this system, urine would spray almost anywhere but the toilet. Also, I doubt that feces would fall into the toilet just as you would expect gravity being what it is (unless you have projectile poop).

I gotta say, this isn’t one of the best designs I’ve seen. It’s really a poor concept, no one goes standing up unless they’re in the woods.

Not sure how this is a Red Dot winner…but products like this already exist. Toto for one has a toilet with a stand-up assist function for elderly / handicapped people. And of course you have the “unrefined” versions http://store.yourspecialneedssolutions.com/bathroom-equipment/healthcare-commodes/power-lift-commode/prod_22.html
