Evolution of the Wine Glass
Whether you’re a traditionalist and prefer a stemmed wine glass or you like the informality of a stemless glass, you’ll appreciate this unique design by Martin Jakobsen. The rEvolution’s angular placement of the stem on the side of the glass isn’t just aesthetically eccentric, it’s also practical for both pouring and drinking. A great conversation starter that you can own here.

While I am known to possess both an eccentricity nature and a traditional nature. I love quirky, unique things, however, when it comes to designs that lack functionality, the latter quality negates all. This wine glass design is definitely a conversation piece, if nothing else, that I was sold on until how the function of it was completely different from what I initially thought. Before scrolling down to the photo of the man demonstrating how the glass is used, I envisioned it being used in a different way.

I also envisioned it in a different way (that I did not like) before scrolling to the last image. And I still don’t like how it is used. It’s not elegant and the glass covers too much of the face while it is still full. How do you store this? it looks like it would take a lot of space in a cupboard, or on a table as shown above. he hanging stem looks odd. it eould be great for party with a specific concept (like bubbles), but not every day use or any party.

As the not so proud owner of a very mischievous cat (who has broken more cups and glasses than I can keep count of), I can appreciate a low profile, stemless wine glass. Even if it’s tacky to hold the glass by the bowl.
My only gripe with this is that it seems hard to swirl with the angled opening.

Not nice. Not practical. You want stemless and catproof ? Go buy an IKEA wine glass.

Epic design fail. And that final photo, above – OMG!
Being a wine geek, I’ve noticed terrible product design occurs *whenever* a non-wine enthusiast designs a wine-related product.

Jack has this pinned. I can “appreciate this design” because I love wine, but imagine having this on the table at a nice restaurant (you know the kinda place that doesnt have enough room for your water glasses and bread bowl let alone your meal plates) and then add this wine glass. haha! you literally have me laughing out loud on this. Thank you for that.
