Allowing me to be in a comfortable position for long periods of time helps me focus on my work and ultimately yields better results.

I love how flexible, comftorable, and movable this chair looks without being so bulky for comfort. It truly inspires me. I would be one with the chair! Hahah. Oh, and one less thing to fuss about when working!

As a design student, my work is an iterative process, with a strong emphasis on material research + exploration. The Generation by Knoll chair epitomizes those kinds of explorations, with careful attention to details and use of materials to maximize comfort and efficiency — truly inspiration for my own work! The chair would inspire me to maintain flexibility, as it is so flexible itself, and incorporate that into my work.

My school use these chairs in our computer lab and there is nothing like it. Staying up all night on this chair is no problem, just lean on this chair and my back stress is relieved ready to do more work. Every time when I’m on this chair makes me wish if i had one in my home.

I like the flexibility of chair that looks like a net protecting one’s back. I have a steel chair that has a weak frame and is stiff with its material. The Generation by Knoll chair looks comfortable with the human body, and also encourages me to have a flexible mind toward everyday challenges!

This chair enables freedom of thought whilst not limiting my freedom of movement. It will allow me to lean back and let my mind truly explore the options ahead of me.

It looks like comfortable, durable, and reliable as far as I know. I’ve been sitting in a chair for about 10 hours a day as a freelancer, and If it is with me, it gets me to come up with really wonderful ideas. Best ever.

The chair looks so comfortable and well designed to adjust to a large number of body types. It’s design and material choices making it flexible is really intriguing. I like the design and that finally somebody made one that recognizes that the best chair is where I can twist and turn myself and it twists and turns with me.

My dream is to design the cars of the future, to invent new automotive technologies, and reinvent the shape of the cars we drive. Comfort improves motivation, and this chair has it all. I could sit at the office all day in this posture forming, ergonomic monster! Say goodbye to the procrastination workload!

Sometimes I forget how having a desk can inspire to create and be productive, but what good is a desk without a comfortable sturdy chair? The Generation by Knoll chair can be just the thing to make you sit in front of your work space and just create. It is a silent motivation tool to get things done, be creative and just DO!

I love how comfortable, flexible, and study the chair looks! I’m at the computer so much, and having a solid and comfortable chair would be great.

I like how it’s designed to fit the user no matter what shape or form they are or choose to embody, instead of forcing the user to mold to some rigid definition of “proper shape”. I can use this concept in my work.

I would love a chair that doesn’t result in my legs falling asleep every day. My current chair is so bad, I have to constantly change positions to alter which leg is asleep. Also the vinyl on the arms is cracked and sharp and I constantly scrape my elbows on it. Oh, I almost forgot, it also randomly decides to lower itself about an inch every 10 seconds or so until it bottoms out. This chair would be a FANTASTIC upgrade!

I am a Physician Assistant and I constantly in my chair reviewing charts, looking over my shoulder to answer a patients question and looking to my left, to answer my medical assistants (4 of them) questions. All in the same time trying to catch up with daily indulgence of yanko design. This chair will help keep my posture correct and prevent further worsening of my sciatica and 2 herniated discs in my neck. Pain free = a productive me!

I just want to be able to dance with this chair through out the day with no limits or bounds of error in the processs. If I don’t have a good comfortable and supportive chair, my back hurts. I think this chair is just what I need to be comfortable all day so I can concentrate on my work better.

I heard a quote this morning from John Jay of Wieden+Kennedy and it really resonates with the design of this chair. He is talking about his relationship with clients.

“…Listen carefully, understand and be empathetic to the truth of who they are. To understand their soul, understand their soul and then make that soul relevant to a greater number of people.”

I think the designers of this chair really understands the designers fidgety soul and it would be inspiring to be able to sit and interact with this amazing design on a daily basis.

There is nothing worse for productivity than hurting all day while you work. Having a chair like this would both relieve that problem and inspire me to work harder to make my interfaces adapt to the user in an unobtrusive way.

So many other chairs force you to sit a certain way, and usually that way is uncomfortable. With this new chair you can sit and work however you want AND be comfortable. Just the design itself inspires creativity. It has no limits, and therefore when you are working in it, you have to freedom to move and be creative with no limits as well. It’s simply amazing.

The amazing design reminds me that nothing is too simple to be fabulous and the comfort allows me to continue to be focused as I create!

I’ve fidgeted in chairs since grade school, and I haven’t found a solution outside of taking breaks, which extends work hours into the night. I’m more mentally agile when I move, and having a chair that can accommodate will make my days in front of my typewriter (no internet distraction) more fruitful — I hope to start my productivity goal of 1,000 words before my morning coffee.

I’ve been known to sit cross legged, Indian style, Japanese style, tailor style, Turkish style, knees up, knees down, forward, backward, slouching, stooping, on one leg, on two legs, squatting, kneeling, sprawled out, slumped over, and stretched out just to get comfortable in my work chair. Because the Generation chair is so versatile, it would allow me to sit, stretch, and collaborate more comfortably than ever.

It’s actually been quite difficult to find the perfect chair for myself, being 6’3″ . I ended up buying a nice big chair a few years ago, but its becoming less comfortable. Having the perfect chair allows me to sit longer and get more work or studying done.

I work in a tight area, frequently reaching behind me, over, and under my desk. This chair looks like it might ease the pain a little bit.

As a designer, I sit in front of multiple computer screens all day, every day. The ergonomics of my chair are crucial to my state of mind and ability to focus on my work and not my aches and pains associated with poor support. I need a chair that will “Generate” to my positions and form, not vice versa.

Put these in a meeting room, now when we have to do a long, very boring meeting at least we are comfortable. Actually some of the designers take them out and use them at their desks, ticks you off when you have to go search them down to put back in for a meeting. I’m a professional photographer and this would be a perfect desk chair for me.
I’ve been in search of one for quite a while….even more so now that I’m having neck issues since I can’t find the right chair. Being an IB student in high school, the amount of time I spend sitting at my desk is endless. I love how the shape, the materials and the manufacturing process all perfectly describe the function of this chair before you even sit in it. Thats a very inspirational design language to follow.

As a chicken restaurant designer the comfort of this chair would allow me to spend more time doing mundane tasks such as reviewing finish schedules and ADA clearances. In short, it would save me.

Seating should be about more than sitting.

I refuse to conform to my chair. FIT ME it demands. “Fit Me” begins the fight for space as I’m squeezed in, further under my desk, the arms of the chair rising too high to fit closer, to close to turn.

My colleague asks for something but I’m stuck again. Wedged in, unable to turn. “FIT ME” says the steel arms against my elbows. “Fit me” says the board against my back. “Fit me” groans the hinge as I recline to reach across the desk, knocking over a coffee on the way. Napkins! They’re in my drawer but may as well be in a lock-box. With my chair wedged up against the drawer and stuck under the desk in the only place close enough to work from; the spilled cup inches around piles of papers, under the keyboard into my lap. No way to stop it. Wiggling in my chair, trying to escape, it creaks back, mocking my struggle.

“FIT ME!” I yell, to no avail, tired and sore, my back aching and it’s only 3:00.

This chair is like Cirque de Soleil, visually stimulating, warmly comforting, and exciting, all at once. This chair promises to adapt to you like an old shoe or pair of old jeans, yet looks like James Bond in a Tuxedo in Las Vegas. Simply being able to move around, and even stretch thanks to that chair, would increase my creativity and energy level.

As a student, late nights working on homework is constant. With a chair that has a very ergonomic design would allow for comfortable late nights and would increase my personal productivity. With the design and durability it would be the chair that would last for a long time in my future en devours.

What a great chair! I work 6 to 7 days a week in my office, and I like to move around a lot. Sometimes lounging in front of my window with a paper I’m reading, sometimes at my desk if I’m on my lap top, sometimes leaning back with my feet propped up talking with a colleague. A chair like this would inspire me to be excited to be at work. What new position will I find today? Like a mattress, it’s amazing that we don’t invest more thought and money into the chairs we sit in for so much of our lives!

Because I am a recent graduate and trying to emerge from college debt I sit on a wooden dining chair at my desk for all of this time. My legs have gone numb on many occasions. I would benefit from the chair greatly and would love the opportunity to promote them and use them in projects having been a user myself.

Clearly a unique idea is brought about by a unique perspective. A unique perspective is enhanced by unique surroundings. This chair exemplifies exactly what it is to be unique, productive, and inspired.

Finally, a chair that bends like a human!

I don’t have one, but my fiance does at his studio and I’ve sat in it. I am a high school teacher and the chair is beautiful, functional, and supportive. If my students are driving me crazy I could just sit down in it for a minute and gain new power like Iron Man.

As only North American contestants can acutally win, there is no use for my to give a quality answer, so here is the answer instead:

Whilst playing with myself I want to be as comfortable as possible, so I can focus my mind solely on the erotic display going on on the display in front of me. The Generation Chair makes that possible. Bringing mastrubation to a new level of satisfaction that wasn’t possible to reach before.

I don’t think I can comment on this chair without actually using it . It’s beautiful though.

They say a chair is still a chair even though there’s no one sitting there. But in this case, it’s an outlet for talent.

Being a creative means taking client feedback, conforming them into your presentation, but without changing your ideas, and making them think they thought of it. This chair will definitely help me conform in more ways than one.

As I get older, I realize how important a good chair is! This chair inspires me to work creatively because I’ll be so comfy, I won’t be thinking about my chair!

Good design is when something becomes so essential, so simple, but at the same time, so intuitive that you don’t think, you just do.

I came across the Generation Chair a few weeks ago in the store. When I first saw it, I didn’t think too hard about it. It looked like just about any other chair that costs north of a few hundred. But I didn’t really understand the design until I sat in it.

I didn’t feel overwhelmed, I didn’t have fifteen knobs to adjust and I didn’t have to change my posture to fit the chair. The experience wasn’t about that. It wasn’t about the color of the trim or the proportions of the legs. It became about forgetting that I was in a chair. A good chair shouldn’t be more than a chair–we should be able to use it without difficulty, without thought.

I thought to myself, “Wow, these guys really get it.”

It was the first chair that I have ever sat in where the point wasn’t the chair–the point was being able to turn fifteen pounds of steel, plastic, and fabric and make an invisible cushion that did exactly what I wanted it to do, without communication and without thought.

Truly great design is about being able to understand what a product is supposed to do, and making the choices that make that happen. It’s a rare thing now, but when something so essential, so simple, yet so intuitive and so powerful, it becomes truly amazing.

Whether it be in my own work, or in the work of others, understanding a powerful force that drives us to make things simpler, more powerful, yet more intuitive, is a key to unlocking better designs.

The Generation Chair inspires me dive deeper, to understand. But most importantly, it inspires me to understand that truly great design is quite simply, the most amazing thing ever.

A chair that embodies the idea of “Work and Play”. A designer can only concentrate on one task for so long without losing interest. Play and fun are necessary parts of design and show how if one gets too caught up in the project, there is no real fun or enjoyment from the task. The Generation Chair refreshes the mind by providing a necessary break and distraction.

Finally, a way to break free from the constraints of a chair! Every constraint removed from my life allows me to devote more energy to creative pursuits. A chair of freedom like this certainly goes a long way to that end.

The ergonomy of the Knoll chair would facilitate my moves so that my eyes escape from my computer’s screen and focus on the paper tray, window, back wall and above all the ceiling. That’s when my most creative ideas start generating.

Absolutely incredible… it is such a simplistic thought that everyone possesses and has FINALLY been manufactured into a beautiful reality. It is adaptive to our environment and the ever changing human mood. It would be an experience in itself to let go in this chair, yet, still receive the support and comfort I need every day.

I work with under-performing urban schools helping them use data to inform their instruction practices. My work requires me to take something as mundane as interim assessments inspiring, so that schools can close the achievement gap that exists in schools. The Generation Chair, takes something as typically mundane as office furniture and makes it inspiring. It will also let me sit for hours and stay fresh for school leaders all hours of the day.

This is my first year out of college, at a desk job. I was so used to being on the go, all the time, and now I’m sitting at my desk 8 hours a day. A comfy chair is the best for letting your mind get creative!

During my summer spent interning at Knoll, I was given the privilege of sitting in a Generation Chair daily. I could relax in it as I enjoyed my morning cup of coffee, lean back to stretch as the afternoon wore on, and easily turn around to converse with a coworker. The Generation Chair is very inspiring. The design itself is very creative and makes me want to reach new heights. With this chair, I’m able to lean back and look up to the ceiling or the sky to ponder new ideas.

This chair would help me be more creative by finally allowing me to sit and work on a project for longer than an hour. Blessed with quite some weight on my front side, sitting on my college provided dorm chair is a dramatic strain on my back. Add some early developed arthritis to the mix and you can imagine that sitting in one position for me isn’t fun. I am a drawer and I prefer fine materials like pen and ink, but it’s impossible for me to work on something for an extended period. Imagine; as soon as my inspiration and creative flow have finally warmed up to full force, I have to stop and stretch and walk. My back is nothing less than a Rubik’s cube! I’ve never owned an ergonomic chair before (since students can only afford so many possessions), but I really want this one. Oh, the things I’d do to it…with it… sitting innocently.

Well, considering it would be infinitely better than the one I have now, I would be more focused, I could sit in a variety of positions, allowing me to focus on my subject, as opposed to my butt hurting, and I could actually put one leg up and hold my sketchpad, something I can’t do without pain pain pain in my current desk chair. A new guest came into our building. Her name was Nora and she instinctively caught my eye. I was drawn to her instantaneously. Her characteristic quickly became my inspiration. She was stylish and refreshing. Like a sponge, she soaked up my daily distress and transformed them into ideas. She listened and comforted me; her mind was so elastic. I felt calm and relaxed at her presence. I couldn’t felt tiredness. She gave me energy and the freedom to be myself. She was different. She made the impossible possible. She made me feel young and optimistic again. She was my new Generation by Knoll chair.
