Paper Sticks

Paper Sticks

Re-paper Chopstick is a relevant design to those who use disposable chopsticks on a daily basis. This D-I-Y pack of paper sticks is easy to assemble and use. If manufactured with paper quality (designer suggests renewable paper) that is good enough to sustain dunking into gravy and soups, I think we may have a winner in our hands! Just be careful not to chomp off the stick!

The Story of Time and Light

The Story of Time and Light

Now here is an interesting concept that merges two of the most fascinating aspects of light. On one hand you have it as an illuminant, a perfectly capable table lamp. And on the other, you have it as a discreet analog clock with an ambient glow. Triple functionality is what I’d like to think of it!

A Dog's Best Friend

A Dog’s Best Friend

My dog, Buckley, is a just a pup weenie-dog but I have already started to notice signs that his elongated back might need some attention down the road, which is why I love this design by Nir Shalom. The Amigo is a super-ergonomic, lightweight, and durable walking aid. It can be adjusted to match the dog’s shape and size and allows the pet to move between walking, sitting, and laying down – all without assistance from their owner. Dogs’ bodies deteriorate just like humans, and that’s where the Amigo comes in handy.

Unique Custom Furniture

Unique Custom Furniture

This collection of furniture by Jory Brigham combines high quality material and eye-catching style to form unique pieces that won’t soon be forgotten. My favorite: the Comfortable Silence bench, inspired by the simple beauty of nonverbal communication, features solid teak mixed with beautiful white or charcoal concrete in which your favorite plant or other item can be placed. I could sit on it and not talk for hours.

Rescue Water-Jet Pack

Rescue Water-Jet Pack

Inspired by the JetLev Flyer (pictured with operator), a flying machine that uses high-pressure water columns to generate thrust, the Rescue Pack is a comparatively lighter but equally maneuverable flyer designed for water rescues inaccessible by lifeboat. Using high-pressure water generated by the pump, the user navigates the flyer via foot controls, freeing the arms for rescue maneuvers.

Accurate Warning!

Accurate Warning!

I have seen plenty of warning sign concepts and some innovative enough to include LED. But this one takes the cake for being simple and effective! Just look at it, the sign indicates exactly which way you need to divert by pointing out an LED Arrow to the right direction. Left or right…you get to set it, depending upon your broken-down vehicle’s position. Awesome!

Digital Cooking Alert

Digital Cooking Alert

The Hourglass Device is a new-age method of keeping the family together, especially during dinner times. It comprises of a sensor device modeled on the sand-hourglass timer and an affiliated app for the family gadgets. So basically when someone gets cooking in the kitchen, the aromas automatically trigger the sensors in the Hourglass and notifies the rest of the family what’s cooking. A good way to get my son to the dinner table on time!

A Downside Up Lamp

A Downside Up Lamp

The Rose Lamp by Benjamin Parton takes the common ceiling rose, a familiar decorative element of Victorian homes, and turns it upside down… literally. The often overlooked piece becomes the base of this elegant design that might just make you wonder which way is up and which way is down!

Minimal and Modular Moulding

Minimal and Modular Moulding

This modern ceiling rose and moulding design by Geoffrey Lhoest is a twist on the classics that plays with the concepts of interconnection and modularity. When combined, the ceiling rose and modular moulding gives new life to walls and ceilings by bridging all 3 dimensions of the space.  A minimalist design that gives a sense of fluidity and movement that will accent both classic and contemporary spaces.

No More A Cookbox

No More A Cookbox

Microwaves have always been boxy in design. Just changing their outward appearance isn’t innovation enough! The challenge is to come up with a practical design that is radical in features, plus space saving enough to abide by the modern-day kitchen diktats. Innowave is one such approach to out-of-the-box thinking. The microwave has been redesigned to fit in a kitchen like a regular drawer, thus freeing up the work surface.

Stop That Door!

Stop That Door!

Hand Door Stopper is a clever way to pull down the doorstopper without having to bend over or using your foot. The stopping mechanism is integrated into the handle itself and is very convenient. Moreover the angle of the door handle will always make you aware that the stopper has been activated. So no accidental door-pushing! Simple and functional, just the way we like it.
