Replaceable Earphones
DIY is a set of earphones that is very smart. Each and every wire in this set is detachable and hooks up to a central module. This means the left earbud, right earbud, central module and line out are all independent and replaceable when busted. The central module works as a remote control for the player and features basic functions like volume, play and stop. This module is proposed to come in two modes: basic and Bluetooth. Obviously the Bluetooth one connects to the player wirelessly!
The story doesn’t stop here; the earbuds are such that you can hook up two separate sets to the central module so that two people can hear the show!

The idea is pretty neat and meets most users' needs. However, the problem arises when user is listening to stereophonic tracks, which rely on sending sound to each ear with a lag to create an illusion of hearing from a source outside the phones.

No idea what the other comment is on about, music is music. It's a nice idea but nothing new. I said about ideas exactly the same to friends years ago when I was studying design. No company would pick up this idea for the simple reason that they WANT their ear phones to break, that's how they sell new ones.

I think that's why the jacks are all stereo. I don't see any problem with these.
