P&P Office Waste Paper Processor is one of those things that you wish you knew how it works, but dang! no reasonable explanation provided at all! Maybe it’s a deliberate attempt on the designer teams’ part, because their idea is a surefire hit! What this lovely machine does is that it converts all those useless memos on your table to something useful: A Pencil! Paper goes in from one end and come out shaped like a sexy writing tool! Sexy enough an idea to bag a Liteon Award as well!

Heavy Shopping Bags Need Some Air For Easy Carry

We learnt in grade school that lesser the surface area, the more pressure it exerts and vice versa. Applying this theory to making it easy to carry heavy shopping bags, means to somehow increase the surface area of the bag-handles. I’ve seen people fold in a napkin to their grip, so that the bags doesn’t exert that much pressure; however Hyo-eun & Eun-seok have devised the Tube Grip instead. It’s an inflatable polyvinyl chloride strip that provides supporting grip; easing the pressure on your hand.

Peeling With Three Variations

There is a reason why potato peelers come with brown handles; to blend in with the peels, so that you accidentally throw it out with the trash and replace it with a new one. With a sophisticated peeler like this Rotary Peeler, I doubt any such accidents will happen. Not only is it designed really simple, it’s got functionality multiplied 4 times! How? Well for starters it’s got three different blade options for peeling (one for potatoes, a serrated one for soft fruits and veggies and a third to cut uber-smooth juliennes), and a potato-eye weeder.

This external harddrive aims to break the traditional “box” shape and stack on into infinity. This is the conceptual “Lacie S2.0″ by seasoned Yanko veteran Pedro Gomes. The front of this magical containment device displays in its eye the amount of free space contained within as well as the drive’s name. The back is a simple combination of plugs: two USB 3.0 and a DC, and the enclosure shape is one that stacks well and looks perfectly fabulous on its own.

A slight tug on the cord, that’s all it asks for, this Pull Lightly Plug by Choi Hyong-Suk. Why? The obvious reasons…old habit of yanking a plug die hard, so give this one a gentle tug…right till you hear a click…satisfy your sorry cravings and save some wasted standby electricity. From a design point of view – it’s clever because it works around a natural human behavior and doesn’t try to be preachy!

The caregiver for an invalid or a patient is one mighty soul! He or she needs to be physically and mentally strong to offer impeccable services to their ward. One of the most physically draining jobs is to carry and transfer the patient from the bed to the toilet or even to a chair. The IX Transfer System is a wheelchair intended for such short distance transfers. It’s more to be used in communal spaces such as a hospital and works both automatic and manual. Indeed, a very different orientation for a wheelchair!

Chair on One Foot

What stands on one foot, is usually very useful, but upon its intended function is functionless? Trick question! Nothing is functionless. This is “The Balance,” and it stands on one leg OR can be used as a chair. Designer Pascal Anson has a trick to play on all of us and its called PERFECT CUTS. Three very accurate, precise cuts to be exact, and a very deep message one doesn’t often see in industrial design that’s often very far away from so-called “useless” artistic expression.

Sports Panel for Interaction Upgrade

Behold the power of Zotefoam! It’s a high quality foam capable of withstanding the punishment that only a sports fan can distribute. That’s why designer Ross Hubbard used it to create the “Football Fan Display,” a simple, powerful tool to display a single letter or number, meant to be used in combination with others, made to be rented before a sports game and returned right afterward. Activate it at the back, punch in the number or letter you’d like, tell your pals what letters or numbers they should put on theirs, and spell “TECHNOLOGY.”

Swiss and Unmanned

That’s what these helicopters certainly are. Swiss! That means they’re going to be white, red, and black, and no other color, ever! Very pretty, very fantastically sleek. The helicopters in this post are both unmanned and are both designed by Swiss UAV – aka Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Made in Switzerland. The KOAX X-240 & The unmanned helicopter NEO S-300 will blow your sox off in a whiff of white airflow, right in your face.

My Fingers Are So Smart, They Measure!

Go back into the history of measurements and we know that in the ancient times, body parts used to be the standard for measurements; hence ‘a foot’. The need for uniformity paved way for the metric and imperial systems that are now commonly used. However our basic instincts still make us want to use ‘a span’, ‘two finger spaces’ or ‘an arm’s length’; old habits die hard I guess! To resolve this and bridge the gap between digital accuracy and human approximations is the Smart Finger.

Rock On My Special Baby

Teaching children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is usually done on a one-on-one basis. So in a class of handful students, when the teacher is busy with one student, the rest are usually occupied in lesser engaging and stimulating activities in the off-task area. Rock On is a special rocking chair meant for the students who are not being taught, for the moment, by the teacher and are waiting for their turn. This fun rocker sports different activity boards to keep these students calm and engaged.
