Each One that Sits on Goes Ahhh

That’s a comfort “Ahhh”, not a scream. Though you MIGHT be screaming when you find out how excellent this chair is. That’s what we’re talking about. It’s a seat that goes by the name “Ipanema armchair,” and it’s oh, so pretty. Made out of medium densified hardwood with a multi-laminated shell wood. This sort of combo allows for a great number of shapes, they say, and your eyeballs are about to explode with flavor when you see the ones they’ve combo’d.

Picture this – I’m holding a Black & Decker drill ready to mount this damn TV sitting on the floor for months. I go in for the kill and everything just goes wobbly. My hands are all over the place. The drill bit is stripping the screw, the screw has gone in crooked, and I’m squealing like a banshee. Not a good look. I’m a 29 y.o. man. I need the Unidrill.

In 2020 We Can Wear Sony Computers On Our Wrist

Our present need for internet connectivity is so profound that secondary devices like the Nextep Computer are bound to happen. Developed to be worn as a bracelet, this computer concept is constructed out of a flexible OLED touchscreen. Earmarked for the year 2020, features like a holographic projector (for screen), pull-out extra keyboard panels and social networking compatibility, make the concept plausible. Ten years from now is not too far away, so how many of you think we’d be buying such gadgets?

I Want To Be A Foreman

The lifestyle of a construction foreman never appealed to be because it’s not glamorous enough. We are talking about me here. I’m about as reserved as Cher on Oscar night. I digress. If the TRIANGLE is what future foremen will be riding around in, then sign me up. Yes its got all-terrain mobility and an electric motor but HELLO, it’s a CATEPILLAR disguised as a scooter. I get to be in charge and do so in one of these things? Loves it.

Let’s Play Doctor Doctor!

Identity Crisis is the theme for Antrepo Design’s “I’m Not A…” series and the last item in this lineup is Stethedphone – I’m not a doctor! Predictably it’s a headset that looks like a stethoscope and comes with a remote and mic. It allows you to make and receive calls, access voice-control features, and listen to music from your iPhone or iPod. The scope is made from ultra light and flexible plastic, plus three sizes of soft silicone ear tips add extra comfort.

What one product do you own, will be useful your entire lifespan? Can’t think of it? That’s because it doesn’t exist, until today. Introducing the GO-GO TRANSPORTER by Tory Orzeck. Originally designed for “obese Americans” (not sure how that is relevant), this design was a finalist at the 2010 IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards) by IDSA. With interchangeable components you can build out a stroller for a newborn, a wagon for playtime, a piece of luggage for your anxious years and a dolly to haul your dead butt to the grave.

It’s called the “Take a Seat” and it’s designed by Darris Hamroun, who more than likely owns more than one bookshelf. This book sits perfectly well up there with the rest of your novels and Star Wars chapterbooks and Teen Beat magazines, then when you want to take a sit, you literally take a book to take a sit. And you sit.

I Want This Hanger

Something about the Axis stand hanger beckons me. There’s a fluidity in the minimalism I appreciate. I’m a sucker for hanger appeal and this could be my manic “fashion designer” personality coming out, but if clothes were presented well, nay HUNG well – the garment appeal increases exponentially. Okay, maybe not exponentially but you get the picture. The great thing about the Axis is even without proper hangers, the support arms already act like one. BANGARANG!

Does Spotted Towel Mean Measles?

Oftentimes we don’t realize that a towel is soiled, especially the dark colored ones. Although designer Sang-hoon Lee uses a white towel to get his point across, I can picture this being used effectively on darker shades. Expression Dot is a concept where your towel starts sporting red dots (measles?) once it gets really soiled. It does the routine of starting from pale red to blood-red, but I’m sure you don’t want to wait till it gets that dirty.

InterPad was probably conceptualized way before Facbook privacy issues surfaced, so I’m going to ignore that function till the dispute is settled. For this is an all-in-one controller that allows you to surf between Facebook (everyone’s moving!), Youtube, iTunes, and webcam with easy. Music, video, camera and games can be configured and downloaded via the easy hotkeys. Basically for those who are into the web world just for entertainment purposes. Sit down, relax and let the fun-times begin.
