In this modern age of dual-uses for blankets, you might wonder why all the innovation has been taking place on early-morning television and 30 Rock’s Liz Lemon’s television channel choices. Well it’s not! There isn’t just a Slanket, there is THIS! This right here, the project we’re looking at in a moment right here, it’s called the “Minus 18″, and it’s made for a little bit of the ol’ wintertime picnic dinner. I bet you didn’t know people had picnics out in the cold snow, did you? Obviously you are not from Minnesota.

One Screen, One Nintendo

Welcome to the future of handheld gaming. I mean it. This is one of those futures in gaming that I’m really betting on. This project is sleek, it’s nice, it becomes flat, it’s basically everything I imagine the gaming industry hitting on in a few years. This project is a concept for a future class of Nintendo hand-held gaming, really similar to the current Nintendo DS in many respects. This one’s got a fully interactive 3-D interface. Basically the same amazing stuff you see in the newest Iron Man movie, all jammed in a cute little Nintendo.

Bombs Away!

This is no aircraft. Nay! That’s all crampy. This is the future of transport. Elegance and a sensible arena for enjoyment of the trip. That’s what this is! From our friends in design 2-B-2 Architecture comes this modern marve; the “Bombardier Adventure,” a true adventure in passenger car for train mechanics. It’s got three decks, infinite niceness, and a lovely cool blue and green color scheme. Let’s get rollin!

Bookmark Does The Work For You

The Page Chaser is a flexible bookmark that automatically marks the page as you turn them. Ordinary bookmarks can fall out and require you to correctly mark where you left off. Why waste all that precious brain power on something so mundane? The Page Chaser catches every page as you turn. It’s an incredibly simply design that never falls out. Cheap, easy to manufacture, and handy. Win in my book.

Alley Traffic Lights

We don’t often think of congested alleys but in Korea they’re some of the busiest intersections where over 40% of accidents occur. Like a traffic light, the AISA is a 3 or 4 way signal. It’s made of titanium alloy with a round shape  to disperse direct forces. Small camera based sensors detect whenever foot, bike, or motor traffic approach and warns cross traffic with flashing LEDS. The color indicates the degree of danger and the flashing rhythm denotes speed.

Another Power Saver Plug, Maybe

We have covered many power saving plugs in the past, but for once I think we have quite an amicable solution with the Sticord. The plug itself houses the on-off switch, and when pushed on, the internal pins connect to complete the circuitry and start the power flow. The main-plug also helps identify which device it belongs to. This aspect may come in handy at offices, where many gadgets/devices coexist.

Sleep On The Pavement, It’s Soft!

A quirky series of bed sheets are available at the Snurk Bedding and the latest one to catch our fancy is the Le-Trottoir. Stark replica of a hard cold pavement block, complete with moss and old rusted metal covers, the styling screams the opposite of comfortable! Probably a gentle reminder that when you do get drunk and pass out on the pavement, it won’t be as cushy as this! And as always, a part of your purchase will go as donations to Dutch Homeless Youngsters Foundation.

Truly the Wildest Blind

Bear with me here, this is a pretty interesting and therefor slightly difficult concept of a window covering to understand. What we’ve got here is a set of blinds. You know, the covering for windows. These are the blinds that run up and down in columns, but these are unique in that they drop like the horizontal type. There are four modes of dropping: all the way up, all the way down, halfway, and graph. What does the graph do? It takes the amount of time you’ve worked and played and graphs it on your window for the world to see!

Roll Out, Child, Roll Out

Literally, this car is called the “Joyride.” Below you will find a definition of Joyride, as provided by the designers. It is wild. Let’s talk about how this car is. It’s for kids, it’s constructible without tools, and it’s for kids, but lemme tell you why I said kids twice – it’s for kids who are so amazingly difficult to please, they don’t even think about responding to you talking unless you call them twice. This is a modern soapbox cart of the free play variety.

A Swell Rockin Lounger

So you’ve got one big wooden plate, right? What are you gonna do with it? Make an ashtray? No. That’s a terrible idea. Instead, I’ve got basically the best idea. Actually it was Marietta Moraweg who had the idea, then totally designed it and had it executed. It’s got so many parallel cuts in it, you’re going to be lounging for basically forever. All summer long, anyway, I bet. And from where I’m posting, that’s kinda starting basically right now, it’s springtime. Time to rock.

Umbrella The Guide Master

Never get caught in the rain without a clue as to where to go. The Umbrella Guide has a city map printed on the inside of the nylon shell with attractions, cafes, restaurants, and hot spots pointed out. Pretty ingenious but which one of you designers want to step up and create one with a dynamically changing display based on location? Do it, do it!

Not Your Typical Take-out

It’s interesting to see how modern life affects dietary habits around the world. In Korea people are so busy with work, dinner is often a rushed affair so designer Heewon Yoon created the BOB system. Users go online and order up meals for the week. Recipe cards color coded by day along with all the ingredients and a talking timer are delivered. Cooking home made complete and nutritionally balanced meals have never been so easy and delicious. Bibimbap anyone?

Review: naoLoop Loft Your Handy Organizer

To the layman the naoLoop Loft is nothing but a glamorized sheet of metal bended in three places; powder coated and has tension straps to hold things in place. But herein lays the difference: layman vs actual user aka me! I have been using the naoLoop Loft for the past three months and can tell you this; it sure is a handy organizer especially in a house populated with four adults and two children!
