Good Vibes for Your Pleasure… and His!
These rocks right here are called “Woodvibes.” This project is what’s known as the all-encompassing androgynous sex toy. Made of aluminum, various types of wood, and the super-secret electronics inside. These so-called “sex toys” are made for the modern couple – aka the one that likes to mess around a bit, but doesn’t want their exploits to be the whole world’s business. Cleverly disguised as wooden rocks, charged by induction, unique in vibration.
Made outside the normal paradigm of sex toys (that being specifically for a man or for a lady,) these Woodvibes reduce the pleasure down to vibration alone. The stones are ambiguous enough to have sitting in a public place in your home, being quite pretty in appearance!
And check it out: charged by induction. These stones come in a box which is also a charging station. Each stone comes alive with its own unique vibration pattern when picked up.
Notes from the designer — Status: prototypes done, technology matured, looking for production/investor. Notes: this project was handed in 9 months prior to Philips releasing their sex toys, which are quite similar in philosophy and function.
Designer: Jonas Lonborg

Great, now every time I go to someone’s house and see rocks or stones sitting on a table somewhere, of course I’m going to be thinking about these.

if it were a reasonable enough price i’d pick up one. use it as coffee table art. and if anyone asked what it was used for i’d just say it was for back massages. Its design is clean enough and shape inconspicuous enough to pull off a number of locations. how long before there made?

Thanks for the mention guys! =D
@reality Wood is very porous, yes, but I’ve treated the “rocks” with a special organic varnish that completely seals them. No more pores, and 100% waterproof for easy cleaning. You’ll find more pores in any silicone-based sex toy out there (and there are a lot of those, trust me, I did the research).
@calin Why? Care to elaborate?
@emoo Making the rocks not look like sex toys was one of my main goals (as well as the unisex aspect). The thought was to try and make a product that didn’t lean on the “normal” sex toy aesthetics of purple/pink plastic/rubber etc., but instead make something that was actually beautiful and inoffensive. Still looking for someone to produce these, so no time-frame at all for seeing these in shops.

@calin Why? Care to elaborate? Obviously sex toys are not for everyone, but “sick” and “gross” seem a bit over the top to me.

Carl says
so they are not shaped like sex toys so how do you use them?
Jonas Lonborg says
That’s really up to the user, but think along the lines of massaging, teasing and stimulating. Each stone has its own vibration pattern, and they turn on when you pick them up (the rock senses that it is removed from the magnetic induction field of the charger/box). The metal starts out cool, but warms up to body temperature really fast due to the heat conducting properties of the aluminium, which adds to the sensation.
All in all, I intentionally designed them to be as androgynous and un-sextoy like as possible, to allow the couple to explore and come up with their own ways of using them. When you don’t supply something with a manual, people seem to get creative, which is exactly what I wanted to achieve.
AlienzExist says
These are cool. If everything is done and you are looking for capital, just start small. Get a website going and start taking early orders letting people know that it will be a while, but they are helping the product launch.
kps9727 says
Jonas,
In addition to vibration, you might consider rocks that heat up or cool down when removed from the induction field.
Jonas Lonborg says
@aliensexist Cool idea, but afraid that won’t be enough in this situation, need someone with the know-how to produce them, so money isn’t really the problem.
@kps9727 Hot & Cold were certainly considered, but for the purposes of my exam, I wanted to keep things as simple as possible. Also, Hot isn’t that big of a problem, but it’s extremely hard to create the Cold in a closed environment (think of cold as the removal of heat). All that warmth has to go somewhere, and the process has to be powered by electricity. There is one type of electronics that does something similar (the name escapes me at the moment), but only by moving the warmth from one side of a surface to the other, so there is still a heating problem. I might not have thought of everything, though, and I’m sure that if I find someone to produce these I’ll have to go back and re-evaluate some of the old ideas =)
Victor Assis says
You could actually cool them down chemically. Just look for an endothermic reaction which can be achieved by safe substances, shouldn’t be that hard. An endothermic reaction stills heat from the environment. Exothermic do the opposite, so you could use them to heat up your stuff, but I guess is simpler to heat with electricity.
Victor Assis says
I meant “steals”, sorry.
Jonas Lonborg says
Yeah, but how do you do that in a closed, watertight environment? Wouldn’t you have to refill the chemicals or at least interact with them somehow?

Hi Jonas – I love the design!
Try approaching Richard, a director of Lovehoney in Bath, England. They are an innovative company with a large market share and a track record of bringing new and highly successful toys to market. Mention BBG – I write reviews for them. Happy to do the same for you too.
You might also try Coco De Mer if no luck at Lovehoney.
